karmarooster 0 Posted September 12, 2008 OK so this week I need to start 3 RBs. I've got 2 spots certain, but the 3rd is really up in the air. (PPR scoring). I'm going to start Steven Jackson and Chris Johnson for sure. After that, I've got: DeAngelo Williams, at home vs. Chicago MJD at home vs. Buffalo Selvin Young/Andre Hall vs. SD. I want to wait to see what happens in the Denver RB situation before i start one of them. For last weeks stats, MJD had 5 carries, 4 receptions, 50 total yards. DeAngelo Williams had 18 carries and 1 reception for 90 total yards. 9 vs. 19 touches neither had a TD both are at home this week both are against good defenses. Post your question with as much relevant information as possible including scoring format and matchups, and i will respond in detail. thanks in advance! 4th and 26 0 Posted September 12, 2008 Last year against Buffalo, MJD put up 12 touches, 26 total yards, and a touchdown. Pretty shaky numbers if you ask me. But I don't know that you can rule him out just because of that. If you're considering Buffalo's Defense to be good because they handled Seattle's 4th stringers nicely, you're making a mistake. DeAngelo has looked good all preseason but plays one of the best, if not the best defense right now in the NFL. But if you consider that the Bears shut down the Colts passing (if you consider 250 yards for peyton on 40 attempts to be a shutdown, that is), Panthers may be looking to keep the ball on the ground. However, this is the game I see Stewart making the most impact in a physical struggle for ball control. Mike Shanahan is too crazy to know which Denver back to start, I'd avoid the situation until it becomes more clear later down the road. But your situation with young and hall will help you come playoff time when one of them is putting up nice numbers on a consistent basis. For these reasons, I'd go with MJD. elayton 0 Posted September 12, 2008 MJD and Jax Oline REALLY scare me...I wouldn't feel comfortable playing MJD this week... I'd role with Williams in their home opener. He ran well against SD and should manage to put up good numbers this week if Carolina attempts to keep control with the running game... Thanks for mine btw! We have similar RB's SJAX Jacobs Edge CJ3 D Williams C Taylor

Similar to the situation you responded to on my question, Chargers are going to look to bounce back from getting ran on, and Shanahan is a tard, so I think that rules out Young and Hall. What you're left with is the safe pick and the sexy pick. DeAngelo Williams looked pretty good last week and the game against the Bears will likely be one of field position. Mojo Drew could easily put up better numbers, but I wouldn't gamble on it. DeAngelo Williams for me.
