Draft picks trade

Recommended Posts

What is the consensus for trading out of your first round draft pick? Assume a 12 team league.

What should you be compensated for the #1 pick? maybe a low first round pick plus a 3rd round pick?

What should you be compensated for a lower 1st rd pick? maybe a low 2nd and 4th round pick?

It all comes down to whether you believe 1 stud is worth more than 2 top 40 players. Interested to hear your thoughts! Thx

We have had that happen twice in our 16 yr league. The compensation was trading eac other 1st rd pick 1st rd picks, and on both occasions the guy moving back from #1 got usually a 2nd rd pick along with a keeper. As co-commissioner's, me and my friend approved both deals. We felt that was more then enough to move up for the 1st pick.

This is what deal was:

Guy moved up from #9 pick and got #1 pick overall

Person who moves back got # 9, 16 (2nd rd) and Got a keeper. All together,m he had his two keepers, plus another from that person and picks 9, 16, 24, 25...

As far as a lower 1st rd pick, usually trading picks and maybe a 3rd pick or keeper is fair.

Thinking about trading my #11 pick and #110 pick, for #29 and #31. (1st and 10th round for 2 picks in the 3rd round)

Both of the fantasy calculators seem to agree that its a decent move. I just think there's too much talent across the league, so if you're not in the top 5 it makes sense to get an extra 3rd round pick.
