Yes. I like it for Filtzy.

Shipp could be a bargain here. Could be.

I'd have traded the 1.14 and 2.14 for him.

Bryant was pretty freaking good for a Cowboy this past season, IMO.

So based on that, and seeing as how the 1.14 and 2.1 are a wash, you would value Bryant and the 2.14 over Porter?

See, I would have to disagree there. I like Bryant a lot too, but Porter is a stud. Bryant is a Harrison size receiver - without the Manning throwing to him.

But you're the champ, so you're probably right. :D

Shipp will certainly help Filtzy's RB corps. The cupboard's a bit bare aside from him.

This trade could definitely go either way. Porter is a stud and should be for years to come. The question is, how long will the Raiders have a passing game like they have now? Bryant has all of the potential to be a stud as well. Shipp helps my anemic RB position.

I just thought from our emails you wanted a STUD WR not another project, but whatever floats ur boat then thats cool, I just feel Flitzy got you pretty good.

They key here is that I don't view Porter as a project. This guy has done nothing but take away production from Tim Brown. My guess is Brown isn't back with the Raiders, and if he is, I don't think he can hold off Porter. My one regret was the trade for Brown, who proceeded to peter out. Porter's numbers this year are the tip of the iceberg in my opinion. Plus, you were asking too much for your stud in my opinion. I also think I can get talent comparable to Shipp at the 2.1

Nope. Said I'd trade the 1.14 and 2.14 for Shipp. You flubbed the antecedent. :D

Yes, however, I would value Shipp and 2.14 over Porter. Right now. Give me a year, and I' might change my mind. Perhaps I'm speaking simply as an owner who is relatively deep at WR and quite shallow at RB here..?

1) He's got 17 pounds and an inch on Harrison.

2) Manning sucks. :D

But of course.

If you think I was asking too much then why didnt you land someone of his same value? Instead you settled for Porter, which is ok, but you didnt land you goal IMO which was a number one WR. I also dont think you had the talent @RB too spare Shipp, but you've told me before you are happy with your RB's so I guess we just have different opinions on that matter. At the end of the day I do not think this trade helps your starting lineup@all and the raiders are in for a shock when the 40 million dollar cap hit comes into play. Obviously with my recent trades you can say I am off there bandwagon. Your team though, and like I said I vote yes.

Good luck. I would love to get a Shipp at 1.14.

2000 -- PK Sebastian Janikowski :D

2001 -- QB Drew Brees

2002 -- WR Jabar Gaffney :D

2003 -- ???

No, what I mean is :

You would trade 1.14 and 2.14 for Shipp. With Hoff's trade, he essentially got Shipp for the 2.01 pick. Since 2.01 basically equals 1.14, that means, were you to do the same deal, you would keep the 2.14 along with Bryant and give up Porter.

Understand?

Let's take a look at the draft as a whole, not just the 2.1. There are plenty of guys available who went in the second who turned out and whom I consider to be comparbly talented.

2000

Jerry Porter, Laveraneus Coles, Darrell Jackson

2001 Includes:

Drew Brees, Lamont Jordan, Anthony Thomas, Correll Buckhalter, Quincy Morgan

2002

Patrick Ramsey, Ladell Betts, Lamar Gordon

I'm not saying all of these guys will be studs, but I think the talent is comparable to that of Shipp. I could be wrong and Shipp could blow up, but time will tell.

Which is where we disagree. You view Bryant and Porter as equals. I don't. I honestly feel Porter can be my #1 next season. I could be wrong, but it is worth the trade because I feel strongly about it.

porter only got what he had this season because he was mostly covered by the safety! He even admits it in numerous interviews, with Oakland taking a hurting Porter looses his only chance....a hall of fame supporting cast! You made a bad trade IMO, Cowboys goin up, Raiders going down.

I honestly think you are over-estimating this demise. They are over the cap, true. But the O-line, Gannon, Rice and Garner should all still be in place. Brown is likely gone, which means more touches for Porter. I don't see the doom and gloom that you do I guees.

I agree. Porter had 9 TD's with only 680 yards receiving. Think of what happens if he sees one of those two starting spots!!

Them 4000 passing yards has gotta go somewhere! :D (shameless plug by new Gannon owner)

See, I think Hoff got Shipp for the 2.01 AND the difference between Porter and Bryant, which is considerable, IMO.

Hoff gets - Jerry Porter, the 2.01 pick in 2003.

Filtzy gets - Marcel Shipp, Antonio Bryant

Thass where I was coming from. I like Bryant and all, but I'd trade him in a heartbeat for Porter. They are not equals, IMO.

Exactly. But you said you would offer the 1.14 and the 2.14 for Shipp. That means, essentially, if you were in Hoff's place, you get Bryant and the 2.14 for Porter, because you'd be getting Shipp for the 2.01 only and get to keep the 2.14.

Clear as mud, eh? :D

But I agree, Porter is more valuable than Bryant. My question to you is : is he worth more than Bryant and the 2.14 pick?

...IF the entire trade is exactly equal, completely.

This changes things.

Cardinals | E. Smith Coming Aboard - posted at KFFL (http://nfl.kffl.com)

13:22 PT: ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli and Chris Mortensen report the Arizona Cardinals have agreed to terms in principle with RB Emmitt Smith (Cowboys) on a contract. There are still some marketing issues that need to be addressed, but both sides acknowledged those elements of the deal are close to completion.

Yah... However...

Raiders | Montgomery Added - posted at KFFL (http://nfl.kffl.com)

March 25, 2003 8:01:35 PT The Rocky Mountain News reports the Oakland Raiders have signed free agent WR Scottie Montgomery (Broncos) to a one-year, $450,000 contract that includes performance-based incentives.

Porter's value is getting a little bit shakier, as well... :D

(Liking the Hoff side of this trade more than before, that's a certainty.)

Everyone knows Emmitt sucks and without the best offensive line in NFL history paving the way, he shows us what he is made of and then Shipp is starting by week 3. Gotta love the Cards for not signing either one of their starting WRs, but signing a starting RB when they already had one. DUMB F**KERS!!

:D I was thinking the same thing. Rumour has it they're hot on the trail of Frank Sanders yet... :D

RB Damien Anderson on the blocks! Cheap!

They also still have Travis Prentise and that Scobey feller, as well..! (plus Thomas Jones)
