Does your league have an Injured Reserve roster spot?

 

Do you think it is a good idea?

 

If so, how is it set up? Is there a minimum time frame a player must be kept on injured reserve for? Any other rules that go along with the roster spot?

No IR. It is more strategic w/o. It forces the owner to either dump him or wait it out.

There is a certain level of skill that comes into play.

We've had an IR spot the past couple of seasons after playing a bunch of seasons without it. At first, I was a bit hesitant about that change to the rosters because I thought that it would have a negative strategic impact, reducing the challenge/fun involved in putting together and maintaining a good roster. But, honestly, it hasn't really had a substantial effect on things; and I now think that it's perfectly reasonable to have one IR spot -- especially since the NFL has compressed the BYE week schedules and with the increase in serious injuries. (Ours is a keeper league, BTW.)

 

I'd suggest trying it out for a year and seeing what happens. You can always remove it next year.
