The Safeway frozen chicken Cordon Bleu

Recommended Posts

You can't microwave it, it's uncooked chicken. That's the whole idea with a cordon bleu is the flavors mingle as it cooks. And you hafta REALLY pronounce it ... cor-doan ehbleahuahah ...like it's fancy.

Add a piece if toasred garlic bread .. yah know ...could be confused for the work of a top chef.

In a prison.

No, but seriously ... It seems fancy and it's really cheap, and it tastes good. So check it out. They also have a stuffed cheese and broccoli version ... same price, not nearly as French sounding.

I used to say it was 4.5 stars, had it so many times now ... Gonna say 3 stars now.

It's like badly made chicken cordon bleu.

There's bacon involved, though.

Only time you can fock up a recipe with bacon in it, is when you can't taste enough bacon.

"The lime in the pineapple chutney cuts nicely with the smokiness of the bacon."

No, just no. Kill anyone that ever says that sentence outloud.

It is possible to fock up bacon, believe it or not.

It's actually really easy to fock up bacon. One time, camping, I cooked up a bunch of bacon for everyone, and I was gonna thow out the grease, cook up the eggs, but some girl convinced me to make "dirty eggs" cooked up, scrambled with the bacon grease and the cooked bacon. With salt on it.

Tasted like shiat.

It was not a survival situation. it would have been better how I was going to make it.

i am too nice sometimes. She was all "trust me, it's good. You never had dirty eggs?"

Another time I tried to make chilli with bacon. Didn't really work. I mean, if you want to cook and drain bacon and then crumble it into some chili that might be good ... but don't cook bacon as one of the meats in your chili. It's all limp and chewey.

That's just not right son. But I still ate it. It's bacon, after all. The most magical delicous fruit from the swine tree.

You know what bugs me, is the bacon wrapped coconut shrimp. Often served at like weddings. Yer supposed to be so impressed by it. Oohhh ... shrimp, wrapped in bacon with coconut sprinkled on 'em. How exotic! Wheee! Bacon wrapped shrimp really makes the night!
