New local pizza place shows up in town. I checked them out. In very fine print on the menu that they don't provide:
"A 5% kitchen appreciation fee will be added to all checks."
This just pissed me off on principle. So...
1. " what if I don't order food? Tab still subject to that 5% fee?"
2." Why don't you just gross your food items up by 5% and pay your kitchen staff that incremental amount each night at tip out?"
3. " I mean, that's what it is right? Forced tip? You guys are giving your kitchen staff that appreciation fee right? Or is it just additional profits?"
4. "How do we know that fee is being distributed to the kitchen staff in the first place? So, I don't mind giving 5% extra to the kitchen staff. Just let me do it directly. Okay?"
