Guest Tarheel Boy Posted June 15, 2001 RK definitely has put himself above everyone else with this pick in the draft. Great job.
Guest RK Posted June 15, 2001 I felt it was too early for James Stewart, and Tony Simmons might last until the last round, so I believe the choice was a no-brainer
Guest Canio6 Posted June 15, 2001 I think he should have taken a risk and grabbed Tony Banks. I'm telling you this guy will explode! Good pick RK

[This message has been edited by RK (edited 06-15-2001).] I haven't seen him around in the last week or so. Isn't school out now? Maybe his family went on vacation or something. Guest RK Posted June 15, 2001 This is gonna be a long draft.
Guest hoffdaddy Posted June 15, 2001 He just posted on the XDL board. Lets see if we can find him.
Guest RK Posted June 15, 2001 Maybe someone should shoot him an e-mail. I don't think he knows we are even here, since he didn't respond in the "League Members Post Response Here" thread.

Guest stick Posted June 15, 2001 Hushhhhhh guys, I'm usually all on time, I had no clue we were drafting yet till Hoff emailed me. It's my bad, won't happen again. Also my bad on the posting a new topic thingy, wanted to draft fast to keep it going didn't even see that topic. ~stick
Guest RK Posted June 15, 2001 I was seriously considering taking Culpepper at #1, but couldn't pull the trigger.
Guest kariya9 Posted June 15, 2001 I figured he is too valuable overall and in this scoring system he is better than a Warner.......I was so tempted to take Fred Taylor but I wussed out.
Guest Canio6 Posted June 15, 2001 with the top 2 QBs and RBs gone I figured I had to go Taylor. I was tempted to take Moss, but figured I would give Fred a chance as he used to bang my wife's roomate.

Guest Smitty Posted June 15, 2001 Sorry about the delay, servers went down because Mike forgot to pay his electric bill again.....wasting his money on all that Hank Stram porno.... Anyhow, I took Jamal here for a few reasons: I am not real high on Eddie George. He is a real steady guy but rarely gets the real breakout scoring weeks. He is the definition of steady and boring (in a good way). Jamal on the other hand has unlimited potential and is more explosive fantasy wise as he plays in what will be a dynamic offense this season. He averaged 100 yds per game on the ground but due to the anemic offense of Baltimore, his TD total suffered a bit. I think he is golden for about 1800 combined yds and 12-15 TDs with the improved team around him.
Guest RK Posted June 15, 2001 I agree Smitty. I wanted to trade down to get George or Lewis. I'm lucky enough to have both of them in a dyansty league!

It's stupid, but they are just not my favorite players.

I have never been in a league which allows the trading of draft picks. What would you have taken for the first pick out of curiosity?
Guest RK Posted June 15, 2001 Probably a 1st and 3rd for Faulk.
Guest Tusekan Raiders Posted June 15, 2001 Probably should have taken Moss, but I aborted the stud RB crap in the ForChamps league (also 16 teams) and went VBD in the beginning. While I liked the results (I'll take Manning and Owens over some of the questionable RB tandems other teams landed in 1 and 2), it wasn't fun. Hoping for the likes of Priest Holmes and Michael Pittman to fall to you in the 3rd and 4th round is not the type of anticipation I enjoy in a draft. So, I'll start with the stud RB who, boring or not, will erase my concerns of getting stuck with the Browns RBBC. Smitty, any tips on TEs and Ds for the later rounds? Guest Tarheel Boy Posted June 15, 2001 There will be no damn collusion in my league. Cheatin bastards.

Guest JasperisOK Posted June 16, 2001 Unexpected passing away of my best friends mother yesterday on the O.R. table set me back a little bit. Sorry if it caused any delays to the league. Stayed up all night with the poor guy, he lost his father too about 7 years ago and is an only child. Next couple of days I'll most likely be back and forth between here and there, but I'll check in here when I can. Damn, yesterday was a pretty $hitty day. Guest hoffdaddy Posted June 16, 2001 Sorry to hear that man. We all wish him well. I attended a funeral ealier this week. A friend's father died of a massive heart attack at 54 years of age. It's tough. Makes you think. [This message has been edited by hoffdaddy (edited 06-16-2001).]

Guest Scooby Posted June 16, 2001 After Moss went, I had to go with Harrison over the RB's...With the 1 point per reception, Harrison is as good as gold....Happy to have him here.... Just leave some rb's for me in round 2....Pleaseeeeeee!!! [This message has been edited by Scooby (edited 06-16-2001).]

I was going to reach for one of the second tier backs, but just couldn't pass him up. Feel a little better about it since only 5 backs have gone so far, but hate being hemmed into picking RBs the next two rounds. Now if only James Stewart will fall to me at 24... sigh. Guest kariya9 Posted June 16, 2001 I am hoping that either Robert Edwards, Travis Prentice, or Ricky Williams falls to 30.
Guest BroncosFan Posted June 17, 2001 I was relieved to see Davis fall to me. When I found out I had the 11th pick, I looked my list over and hoped that the league wouldn't go all RB's in the first round. IMO, he has a great chance to be a top 5 back or better this year.
