Guest hoffdaddy Posted June 26, 2001 Needed a D, pickd NO. That's OK. That's two New Orleans picks back to back for me!!
Guest kariya9 Posted June 26, 2001 Excellent pick tj. Could be a HUGE payoff if Griese has shoulder problems.
Guest t.j Posted June 26, 2001 I really thought hard about getting the Eagles D to rotate with the Redskins D. But ultimately I decided that there's just not enough payoff with this scoring system to spend a 12th rounder on a 2nd D. But mostly because with a roster of only 15, and so many teams in the league, it would just be devastating to have 2 Ds on the roster all year. I can't believe there were 9 kickers I was interested in and they all went among the first 10 kickers, almost all in the same round the last going right before my pick. That 28-pick wait is a killer I tell ya! I guess I will just wait now and take a scrub in the 15th round. Here's hoping the reports about Griese's shoulder being ultra-fragile are true! The fact that they re-signed him to a big contract makes me not so sure. But on the other hand, the Broncos always give the big money to whoever produces for them (even if that player isn't worth it ala Terrell Davis), and Shanahan is not known to care whether his players are one hit away from never being able to play again, so the contract may not mean Greaseball's injury is safe at all. And even if Griese is perfectly healthy now it's always possible he could get a new injury... and Beuerlein could rack up some stats if he gets in there! :thumbsupsmilie:

Guest t.j Posted June 26, 2001 Personally I doubt Frerotten will be above Stevie B on the depth chart. All the depth charts I have seen have Beuerlein right behind Griese. But, it's definitely a consideration. If not for Frerotte I might have taken Beuerlein even sooner.

Guest The Unknown Soldier Posted June 26, 2001 Sorry 'bout the wait. My boss came by and asked me to be in a meeting right away. Luckily it only lasted 20 min...

Guest BroncosFan Posted June 26, 2001 Originally posted by Tarheel Boy:Shane Matthews? Bleh Thats what I said while I sent the list to Scooby. But as of now (accoring to Mike's depth charts), Mathews is the only starting QB left and since I only have one, I need somebody on the bye week. I didn't want to be the team with only one starting QB. Now the biggest problem will be keeping the Bears starter until Collins' bye week in week 13.

Guest Tusekan Raiders Posted June 26, 2001 Buckhalter is a great pick. I read something yesterday that the Eagles are not looking for a vet to add to the mix and are ready to go camp with Buckhalter as the number 2, with Autry and Mitchell (who already proved they are not RB1 material) remaining in the mix. I think all the early reports on Staley have people forgetting all the talk last year about how this could be a career ending injury.

Yeah, I was looking at Buckhalter a little earlier, but all the reports on Duce's progress definitely made him a downgrade. I just read an article (by your buddy Clayton) on all the players making recoveries from injury, and it listed no less than five who had got a Lisfranc injury last season: Staley, TD, Rhett, Blake, and Candidate. Still, getting him in the 12th is a great value. By the way, TR, great pick on Streets! Didn't even notice that you just nailed down the 2 spot in SF completely. Great values at 8 & 11- may turn out to be the best in the draft. Whoever starts, I wouldn't be too surprised to see 1,000 yards and 6 TDs out of that spot(unless they end up splitting time- yuck). Definitely covers you until you find out what's going on with Glenn. Your team's looking very nice!
