List your players that have injuries

Recommended Posts

Guest Tarheel Boy

Don't list the ones that have a hangnail and will sit out a couple of days. List any players like Santana Moss that will really impact the depth of your team. Like I said in June the teams that get screwed by injuries will get first choice of the FA's.

Well, I won't drop him yet or anything, but I have Terrell (continual headache) Davis. Not sure the extent of his injury yet or what time he will miss until more of the preseason goes by.

Walls I guess, though he's coming back from an injury and not recently injured. Oh, suprisingly, Cam Cleeland is hurt. Pretty minor though.

Can you post a link to this? I couldn't find it. How exactly is this going to work? Something like whoever lost the highest draft pick gets the first FA? How do you compare say a 5th rounder out 5 weeks to a 9th rounder out 9 weeks?

I can't remember the link but everyone thought this would be the best way to do it, including you I do rememember that. I think it was on the geek board before the league was set up.

It will be determined based on where the person was drafted. I think we can all use common sense and see who got hurt the worst and who didn't.

There's only three of us that have serious injuries to players. Here's the order that I believe is the best.

Smitty

Canio

t.j

Don't really see a point to argue that order.

OK, I must have missed this rule, how are we prioritizing free agents for people with injuries? Why is someone losing Freddie Jones, who may be back by the season, more detrimental than my situation with Terry Glenn? This seems bogus. I don't see how you can have a fair system that gives subjective benefits based on (in most cases) unknowledgeable opinions of injuries.

By the way, I have Tiki out with a broken hand.

EDIT-> I asked a question here about the rules on an IR, but found the answer myself, so I deleted it. No IR, to add, you must drop. Got it.

First of all, I put this thread up a few days ago before you said anything about Glenn and now you're complaining. I based the order on those that listed their injuries like I requested. Second of all, Canio has lost a starting TE and two WR's. Third of all, Glenn had a history of getting hurt or being a nutcase for many years now where Jones has not. Fourth of all, I think Jones and Glenn are pretty comparable as far as their value at their positions.

Damn, since it will appear someone will cry

no matter what I'll just make it a damn free for all after Smitty. rolleyes.gif

You snooze you lose.

Here's a link where I briefly mentioned it. Thought I put it in the rules but I guess I didn't.

Oh, and t.j since you deleted your response before I had a chance to reply all I can say is I think TUS knew the risk with drafting Davis as well. I believe he made a comment about it back then about the risk but I could be wrong.

Since I can't be online tomorrow there's no way to put it up for a vote what people think the order should be before 10:00 tomorrow morning. I don't think anyone would whine about Smitty having first dibs on the FA's (I could be wrong). After him it's either first come first served or put up a vote tomorrow and delay FA signing until I can determine an order tomorrow night when I can get online. No matter what though I'm sure someone won't be happy about it but I can't please everyone.

I think your idea to delay FA signings is a good one. I suggest Wednesday at 10 am CST. That will give everyone Monday to say their piece, you Monday night to decide who (if anyone) gets to pick ahead of time, and anyone that does get to pick early (be that only Smitty or several people) all of Tuesday to pick early so that people can just do transactions unregulated when the FA signing period begins Wednesday morning. Does that sound good to everyone?

No clue what t.j. or anyone else said, but I'm used to FCFS waiver wire regardless. So if Smittah gets first choice then free-for-all, I have no problem with that.

Either way, I think I may have overstepped my bounds with too many leagues this year and all the players I have to keep dibs on. rolleyes.gif

Sounds good to me. I was hoping everyone would list their injuries before tonight but that wasn't the case.

I was on vacation.  I already said maybe I missed it.

Third of all, Glenn had a history of getting hurt or being a nutcase for many years now where Jones has not.

That's completely irrelevant and/or biased (take your pick) for purposes of determining FA order.  By your logic, Jamal Lewis had a history of getting hurt, so shouldn't Smitty be "punished" too?  And that's just for the sake of an example, I'm not arguing against Smitty picking first.

Damn, since it will appear someone will cry no matter what I'll just make it a damn free for all after Smitty.      rolleyes.gif

I'm not crying, I'm giving my opinion. This just seems a rather important matter to be left to open to translation and only addressed in passing in a thread that had nothing to do with the topic.  Maybe no one cares too much now, including myself, but when the next Kurt Warner or Mike Anderson is up for grabs later in the season, and everyone is arguing about how it should be prioritized...that's what I was getting at.

[/b]

If I'm the only one who's confused or questioning how it can objectively work, then that's cool, I don't object, rock on. Just posted this to respond to a few things you said.

The only time a FA is to be determined is with this first wave of FA pickups. After that it's on a first come first served basis. I'm almost positive that is in the rules. It's rule #9 where I stated FA's are on a first come first served basis. I thought we all agreed that for the first wave of FA signings that the teams riddled with injuries would have first dibs.

If you weren't complaining it sure looked that way to me with the thumbs down and bogus comment. If not, then fine.

Alright, that clears it up. I thought this would be the system in place for the whole season. That was all I needed to understand.

Of course it was a complaint, I disagreed with something, but it turns out I was the one interpreting it incorrectly.
