Tarheel Boy 0 Posted January 1, 2002 My nominations for: Fantasy MVP Marshall Faulk - Even with a couple of games missed, he still put up awesome numbers. Fantasy Bust Randy Moss - He had a stretch of a few good games but overall was a huge disappointment. Fantasy Surprise Priest Holmes - He's what really made my team so good this year. I thought he would be a nice 2nd RB but never thought he would put up those kind of numbers. Clearly my best pick and in my opinion, steal of the draft. League Team Surprise Tarheel Boy - Ok so it's an obvious homer pick. But I honestly thought I might get in the playoffs but probably be a 6th or 7th seed. Holmes, Brown, Pollard (thanks t.j) all exceeded what I thought they would do. League Team Disappointment RK - I had a feeling his decision to wait so long to pick up a solid WR would be what would hurt his team. I thought Garcia, Faulk, and Dunn would be enough though to make up for it and at least put him in the playoffs. Feel free to add your .
kariya9 0 Posted January 1, 2002 Fantasy MVP - Marshall Faulk. Not only the best player, but in our scoring system, by far the best player. Fantasy Bust - Fred Taylor. Just a killer for Canio6 and most owners who took a gamble on him. Surprise Player - Jerry Rice. Considering how late I drafted Rice, he was my MVP. He become a solid threat for about 16 pts a game in this scoring system. Yeah, yeah Rice is the best receiver ever, but at 39 and with a new team I think he has found new life. Best Team - Tarheel Boy, Suckass QBs, but amazing all around other than QB. Disappointing Team - RK scored 146 pts in week 16, good thing he wasn't in the finals. similar 2 2 2 0 Posted January 1, 2002 Fantasy MVP - Clear homer pick but I'm gonna Curtis Martin. Great value at the #15 slot, was only 46 points behind Faulk for the season when the regular season ended. Nearly took me to the playoffs single-handedly if the rest of my team wasn't completely pitiful. Even if I'd been smart enough to pick up Crockett when Wheatley got hurt it would have been enough difference. Fantasy Bust - Fred Taylor. Nuff said. Fantasy Surprise - Gotta go with Holmes. League Team Surprise - TBoy again. Just huge. Rod Smith's production surprised me (of course nobody expected McCaffrey to go down), Holmes surprised the hell out of everybody, Pollard (you're welcome), etc. League Team Disappointment - stick's defunct team. RK may not have made the playoffs but his team scored a LOT of points (currently 2nd in league). stick's team did even worse than I expected, with Edge going down in addition to Griese sucking as expected and Staley being mediocre as expected. A lot of people thought stick's team was going to dominate.
Ditkanate 0 Posted January 3, 2002 I surprised myself by going to the playoffs despite the Gonzales fiasco. Kordell Stewart surprised me by being a good pick but still managing to completely stick his tool into the deep recesses of my ass anyway.
