J-Money 4 Posted September 2, 2014 How is the cardinal defense going to compare to last year? Unless it's someone like megatron or Julio or Thomas will you bench your wr facing Peterson? Or with the hits they've taken and honey badger still working himself back into game shape are you confident in any #1 wr like Crabtree, Allen, harvin? Docket is lost for the season to injury, Washington is out for the season due to suspension. They did not resign Dansby and he's now in Cleveland. Mathieu has yet to take the field and they're bringing him along slowly. The defensive signals are likely to be called by a 2nd year player who had only a handful of snaps last year and spent much of the pre-season injured. They added Cromartie. The defense is a huge cause for concern going into the season, a big departure from the last 16 months or so.
DamageIncVacc 6 Posted September 2, 2014 Originally I intended this year to take Arizona as my main D but went in another direction due to the above. They will not be any where as good as previous years . Still startable but too many question marks.
Upper Class Trash 67 Posted September 2, 2014 They will be a good start against most passing offenses as once Mathieu returns, the Secondary could be one of the top in the league. The issue is going to be stopping the run and rushing the passer. They have nobody in the front seven.... A couple of aging names, but not much else. I could see them easily giving up the most rushing yards in the division and finishing in the bottom half of the league in this category. Teams will likely play ground and pound against them. While Peterson is a stud Corner, he's not been a true shut down guy to date. I have no worries about starting my top WR against him on any week. That is something only a handful of CB's in NFL history have been able to accomplish. Sanders, Bailey in his prime and Revis. Haden has done ok, but for the most part, anyone else can be beaten with regularity. Don't get stuck on a "name". With no pass rush, he's going to be stuck trying to cover a WR with no help.....
