#6352741 League Issue

Posted by cousinal111 on 07 November 2018 - 06:32 PM

Normally I'd agree that a player who plans to leave should have the roster frozen to prevent bad deals, but if the roster hasnt been frozen, you need to scrutinize the deal based on its merits.

if this is a 2 keeper league, then a first round pick is the equivalent of a third round pick in a redraft.  I could easily see AB going in the 2nd or 3rd round.    Ditto for Kelce and Julio.

the guy inheriting his team wont do badly because of the deal. he is at the very least, getting some keepable players.  this is especially true if his team was weak in terms of potential keepers.

even if it wasnt weak in terms of potential keepers(ie. he has a strong team), this deal gives him a legit shot at a title and likely represents fair value for a team trying to win it all.

In this case, I'd let the deal go through.  hes acting as a normal team might even if he is leaving.

You can't keep players drafted in first 5 rounds. The first 50 picks of the Draft are not eligible to be kept. AB, Julio, and Kelce were the team's first 3 picks in our August draft.

The point about paying future Owner's fees is a good idea.

Agree totally with ralphster, lopsided trades kill leagues. This is our 19th season & have never had a trade vetoed.

#6346994 Best Backup RB Flyers...

He was a preseason standout against backups, but word is that Brown is much more polished in pass protection, and Kelly is being brought along slowly.

Stashing Brown in multiple leagues.

I think you all forget. Cobb. Allison. Nelson. Adams. They were all the next man up at some point. None of them were studs the pack made them studs. They can make the new crop studs too

Cobb, Adams, Jordy were all 2nd Round Picks. They developed & became studs when Rodgers was mobile. Rodgers is not mobile this season due to injuries.

Ty Montgomery?

I'm thin at RB. I've kept Ty stashed hoping he'll start getting 7-8 targets a game whether out of the backfield or slot, whatever. He's shown great rapport with Rodgers foe years.

Congrats Darnold, you join some greats to throw a TD on thier first pass attempt!!!

Last 2 to throw a pick 6 with their first attempt were Jameis Winston & Brett Favre.

#6303084 Ethics Question

Plenty of times I drafted nothing but QB, RB, WR, and TE & left my K & D empty until right before kickoff of Week 1. It's a decent strategy to hold onto as much position talent as possible before adding a K & D which you can stream all year.

Usually you have to hold the player (D or K) for 24 hours until they are placed on waivers as if it's an immediate pickup and drop they will just go back as free agents. It's a good rule so sleezy moves like this aren't possible.

Now grabbing a great defense or even two to keep them away from your opponent who doesn't own one is good coaching IMO.

He was referring to the other part of the statement, that Keenum loves to target slot players. His point is Thielen was the main target for Keenum and Thielen did not play slot.

Gotcha. This article was preseason 2017 about Vikings planning to use Thielen in the slot more - http://m.startribune...lity/441564073/

This article is after the 2017 season - https://www.google.c...-2017-list/amp/

"Among wide receivers with at least 120 routes run from the slot, Thielen finished tied for second with an average 2.11 yards per route run."

Funny thing is, Buck Allen may be the RB to own in PPR for Baltimore

#6289136 Golladay hype building, time to grab him?

Should be noted, Detroit rarely runs 2 wide sets like most of the NFL. Probably about 15% of the time if that.

#6284308 Drafted Yesterday - not very pleased

Posted by cousinal111 on 12 August 2018 - 09:31 AM

Thanks for the response. My plan was to get Zeke & then do a zero RB type strategy. I like Dak this year. Keep in mind he was the QB1 last year I believe before Zeke got suspended. We have a deep roster so carrying 2 QB's was my plan unless one of the top tier QB's slid.

As far as RB, I really think Rex has RB2 potential if he's healthy. Brady & Belichick trust him & Sony is already dealing with a knee problem & has fumble issues in his past.

Here's to Zeke, Dak, and the Boys leading the NFL in scoring!

I'd probably stick with AB. Barkley may end up being very special but Brown already is.

#6206215 Grade Your Teams Draft - 2015

Posted by cousinal111 on 21 April 2018 - 08:11 PM

Broncos - F (they did win it all previous season however)

1.23 LB Shane Ray Missouri

2.27 OL Ty Sambrailo Colorado State

3.28 TE Jeff Heuerman Ohio State

4.34 OL Max Garcia Florida compensatory pick

5.28 DB Lorenzo Doss Tulane

6.27 DL Darius Kilgo Maryland

7.33 QB Trevor Siemian Northwestern compensatory pick

7.34 DB Taurean Nixon Tulane compensatory pick

7.35 DB Josh Furman

Shane Ray still has potential but every thing else is terrible.

#6132134 Need Input on Resetting of My Keeper League

Posted by cousinal111 on 17 January 2018 - 10:11 PM

Interesting. Our previous version of keepers was 1 lottery keeper (picked in 1st 4 rounds at some point) & 4 nonlottery keepers (5th round and beyond or FA). Players could be kept for as long as you wanted. This resulted in a few stacked teams which was fine because they ran their team well, but the Draft sucked. Last year based on Yahoo Rankings, there was only 6 of the top 35 non QB's available.

Is 1/2 point per catch the way to go from full PPR in you guys opinion?
