The Riddler 0 Posted August 2, 2006 Just had this years draft. 12 team keeper league where we start 1 QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1 W/R, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF. Based on who was kept, I had mocked the first few rounds and actually ended up with the guys I'd hoped to get. I think I did pretty well, especially compared to most of the other teams in the league. But there's always room for improvement. I have some ideas on what to do next, but wanted some feedback from the board. If you leave a comment, I'd be happy to do the same. Here's my squad: QB - Tom Brady, Matt Leinart RB - Rudi Johnson, DeShaun Foster, Fred Taylor, Thomas Jones, Derrick Blaylock, Cedric Cobbs WR - Steve Smith, Marvin Harrison, Eric Moulds, Antonio Bryant, Samie Parker TE - Todd Heap K - Jeff Reed DEF - Miami
WhiteWonder 2,734 Posted August 2, 2006 not much really that i can say except your runningbacks are weak. great QB, great TE, good wr's, solid RB but not much depth. really gotta hope foster stays healthy and same with taylor. If they do you could be in very good shape... the only thing u may be able to do is find someone who really values brady.. and trade him for a slightly lesser QB say an Eli Manning or Jake Delhomme or Marc Bulger along with something else to try and add depth. illmadden 0 Posted August 2, 2006 Strong team. Your #2RB and depth is a little weak. With Foster and Taylor (hammy injury in camp) coming off of injuries last year, I question what their workload will be like this year. Great QB with the #1 WR and arguably the #2 WR, you're recieving core is solid. Having a solid season for a TE last year, Heap should match or better his numbers with McNair as the field general. Personally, I believe that running backs are the heart of any FF team...so I think you need to find a solid #2. 8.5/

The Riddler 0 Posted August 2, 2006 Thanks for the responses. Fred Taylor and Thomas Jones were both mid-round picks, and they lasted, way, way too long. Even with less than stellar injury reputations and not the best current situation, picking these guys was a no brainer. All that said, I am worried about my #2 RB. I picked Foster over Dillon, and I'm still not sold on that pick. Is it worthwhile to try to trade for DeAngelo Williams, or should I try to trade Foster away for someone a little more stable? Or maybe stand pat for a while since it is only August.
Great White Hope 0 Posted August 2, 2006 How many players do you keep? Regardless of how many you keep, I would try to bolster my RB corps. #2 - 6 have potential, but I really don't like any of them very much. I would try to package maybe 2 of your backs to get an upgrade so that you can start 3 each week. Or you can start 2 and then go with 4 WRs for your flex, but you may get more consistency with the 3rd RB as your flex. Good Luck!!
The Riddler 0 Posted August 21, 2006 QB - Tom Brady, Matt LeinartRB - Rudi Johnson, DeShaun Foster, Fred Taylor, Thomas Jones, Derrick Blaylock, Michael Bennett WR - Steve Smith, Marvin Harrison, Eric Moulds, Antonio Bryant, Samie Parker TE - Todd Heap K - Jeff Reed DEF - Miami Draft was 3 weeks ago, and the only change I've made so far was to drop Cedric Cobbs and grab Bennett as soon as he was dealt to KC. Even so, I think my team has improved since the draft. I like what I'm hearing about Foster and Taylor being healthy, and with Benson banged up, I like Jones' situation. Bryant seems like he should be solid this year, especially for a WR3. Anyway, I'll be on vacation most of next week and was just wondering if I should try to make a move before then. Maybe try to swing a trade. One owner in particular had D Davis and Benson as his RB1/2 and might be open to a deal. Also, the LJ owner has already inquired about Bennett. So, the question is, if you were me, what would you do? Leave a link, and I'll be happy to respond.
