Your RB's are great but if you start 3 WR's, you should've gotten a stud WR. DJax will be a bust for sure... And yeah, your QB's are not only blah, but they're crap! Good luck! ElvisMcCoy 0 Posted August 18, 2006 I was going to say wrong friggin bored BUT I am curious...Who went in the first 6 picks and in what order??? You got Tiki at 7??? Jordan at 14 is normal and I suppose even Westbrook in a non PPR league in the third isn't shocking. Your WR's are not good. Driver is my third WR in a 12 team league. D Jax will not be a bust, but I don't expect huge numbers either. Kennison, Branch, Coles -- man I'd hate to be you. Bledsoe Kitna In a ten teame league I gotta say this is pretty bad man. LoydXmas 0 Posted August 18, 2006 The Djax and Branch moves hurt you but the nice 3 rds of Rb's may save you if you can start shopping one(I would start shopping Jordan) with a WR to upgrade a WR. Driver and Kennison should be solid starters and Coles may be a good filler for the first 3rd of the season if Penny holds up that long. Shop Coles early if he opens with a few good games as he did last year. QB seen is acceptable. Not too bad if you can fix the WR draft error. For what its worth. I think the Branch talks get resolved and Brady still throws to him... and Djax... gets healthy in time for the FF playoffs. I'm not too excited about the first half of the season with this team though. At least it was just my get into the season warm up draft. Waiting for my 12 man soon. mtammen 0 Posted August 18, 2006 Driver is my third WR in a 12 team league Are you joking? Driver is a top 15 WR?? Who are you drafting with? seriously
NJJoe20 0 Posted August 18, 2006 If/When Addai wins the starting job, I'd peddle Westbrook for a top 5 QB. Nevertheless, I like what you did. A definite playoff team, imo. I believe Jackson, Driver, Kennison, and Coles is a pretty damn good WR core, but Pollard at TE is a bit iffy.
Zefram0911 0 Posted August 18, 2006 I'm not sure why.. but after looking at my team... I'm liking Bledsoe more and more. I've possibly got 3 top ten backs (Westy might be on the fringe of top 15)... my WRs aren't completely a mess. My TE is definitely a miss, but I'm sure someone will emerge. We'll see.... maybe not the best... but better than average I think.
IndyTom 0 Posted August 18, 2006 Help me out here with your strategy. If you are required to start 3 WR's and only 2 RB's - why did you take Westbrook with the third pick? Bye weeks and potential injuries aside - the guy is going to be riding pine on your fantasy bench when you could have picked up a WR or a higher value QB with this pick. Bye weeks and potential injuries aside - the guy is going to be riding pine on your fantasy bench when you could have picked up a WR or a higher value QB with this pick. My thoughts... I'm pretty high on Westbrook. It was nearing the end of the 3rd round... and he was still there. I knew my next pick was ONLY 7 picks away. I felt that I could still get a good receiver. Because all the top 8 guys on my board were gone and I had my pick of SMoss, Chris Chambers, Hines Ward, Burress.... Didn't really like them better than Westbrook and on my next pick I got Driver. You can never have too much running back depth. I'm kind of in the middle with that decision. On one hand I got someone I'm kind of homerish about (my finacee is from Philly) and think will do pretty well this year. Maybe even better than Lamont. On the other hand... I could have gotten another top 15 receiver. Maybe I should have gone with the receiver.
aggiewildlife 0 Posted August 18, 2006 I wouldn't listen to the people who say your team sucks. I try to rate teams based on how well you did at each pick in terms of getting somebody who should have been drafted prior to that point. Best available talent. Looking at it that way, your first 3 picks were awesome in that there's no reason Tiki should have been available at 7, Jordan at 14 or Westbrook in the high 20's. I mean most people have Tiki 4th or 5th, many people have Jordan 5th or 6th, and many think Westbrook is a top 10 RB if he can stay healthy. Even your 4th round pick Driver should have probably already been taken when you got him. So if your top 4 picks were all "bargains" then you're sitting in good shape. I think Bledsoe/Kitna is a decent enough pair that you can play the matchups and still perform favorably. They both have weapons. Whoever says DJax is a guaranteed bust is smoking something. I think he too was a valuable pick where you got him. Branch will be fine, as will Kennison, and Addai might end up being the key to your success. I think your team is fine and you have some options. Since Westy is an injury risk, I might consider shopping him to a team that didn't pick up RB's in the first 2 rounds. Anyways, I bet your team would do better than alot of these guys telling you that you suck at drafting. I hope so.
The Moose 0 Posted August 18, 2006 I actually like the Bledsoe pick, he performed well last year and now he was a big target in TO.
hotgumbo1 12 Posted August 18, 2006 Tiering...it's all about tiering. You should have could have would have. You should have snagged a tier 1 WR in the 2nd round. Now you are in a hole becaues your WRs are weak point blank. Start shopping now.
mtnman32 0 Posted August 18, 2006 This does not look like a bad draft to me. I fall into the RB depth camp as well. I think your WR corps is not great but certainly serviceable. I like Driver for 11-1200/8-10 tds which won't be much behind the WR's you had available with the Westy pick, if any. I say you sit tight with this lineup until Addai busts out in week 6 or so and then shop Jordan or Westy(if he's still healthy). Not a bad draft in my opinion. SMC17 0 Posted August 18, 2006 While I'm not a Bledsoe guy I think you drafted well. Driver, Jax, Branch is average but your RB's are solid and you can play match ups. What you need to do immediately is upgrade at TE. Grab one of the young guys with upside (B. Watson, Troupe, Miller, Cooley). I think Kitna is a gamble worth taking. I like him as a backup in the last couple of rounds. Good luck
mtnman32 0 Posted August 18, 2006 I forgot to add how much I like that Jacobs handcuff. If Tiki goes down for any period of time I think Jacobs could be a beast!
Liberals are Clueless 0 Posted August 18, 2006 Are you joking? Driver is a top 15 WR?? Who are you drafting with? seriously The stupidity on this board never goes away. It's like that booger you can't shake.
mikeod11 0 Posted August 18, 2006 Not bad, your RBs obviously rule. I would try shopping Jordan around for a Tier 1 WR considering you start 3 WRs.
