Eriadoc 4 Posted August 27, 2006 Well, today was my main money league. It's a keeper format wherein you can keep two players, but they have to be different positions and they cost a draft pick two rounds higher than where they were taken the year before. In my case, I kept Steve Smith for a 3rd round pick (got him in the 5th last year) and Jake Delhomme for a 7th round pick (9th last year). I drafted from the six position. Running backs that were kept from last year were: LJ, SJax, Caddy, RBrown, WParker, Droughns, and Gore. It's a PPR league and QBs get 6 pts. per TD. Start 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 flex (RB/WR), 1 QB, 1 TE, 1 DST, 1 K. DST can score big points in this league - start with a base of 20 and lose points as scores are yielded, while gaining for sacks and turnovers. QB - Delhomme, Carr RB - Edge, Dillon, McAllister, FTaylor, BJacobs, JNorwood WR - SSmith, AJ, Michael Clayton, Roddy White, Braylon Edwards TE - LJ Smith DST - Dallas K - Akers Thanks a lot! Survivors 0 Posted August 27, 2006 I like Delhomme a lot. Looks a little weak at RB after Edge (and I worry about him w/ Arizona). Not sure about receivers after Smith.

In this format, I like the Dallas defense. I might have drafted another defense and played matchups with defense being so important, but still, I like the pick, because Dallas won't give up points even if they fail to force turnovers. 6 pts per TD makes QB's more important, and I think you could be hurting at QB. Two guys that probably won't be more than average. RB has a lot of question marks. You'll get TD's with this group but I am not so sure about yardage. I think your first two receivers are good, but after that, more question marks at #3. TE and Kicker are fine. How many teams in this league?
Eriadoc 4 Posted August 27, 2006 Thanks for the feedback! 12 teams in the league.
Bottles 0 Posted August 27, 2006 Not bad, not great. Strong 1 and 2 RB. Not outstanding at any position. Very B
Babadi 0 Posted August 27, 2006 I'd be worried about your backs. I'm just not sold on Edge in Arizona, that line is terrible. Then you have 3 backs that get injury prone and a couple goal line guys. Norwood has great potential if anything ever happened to Dunn though. Lot of question marks after S. Smith at WR. I like Jake D, but don't expect him to win you to many games with huge numbers. I thin LJ Smith is gonna have a very nice year in Philly.

I thin LJ Smith is gonna have a very nice year in Philly. I'm actually not too worried about my backs. I stressed over the Edge pick, but I had to choose between Portis, Tiki, Edge, and Rudi Johnson. It's PPR, so that pretty well knocks Rudi out of it. Portis is banged up and I knew it would be hard to get my handcuffs. Tiki is older and even in his career year, didn't score many TDs. The backs that score the TDs in our league are better than the high-yardage backs. At least Edge is not currently injured. His line is not great, but even Emmitt was able to put up a decent showing there. Green seems committed to getting the running game going, so I figured Edge was the best pick of the available crapshoots. I think a lot of people are more down on Dillon than I am, but even so, the top 3 backs available to me when I took him were JJ, KJ, and McGahee. All of those have bigger quesion marks, IMO and I feel like Dillon has another good year left. The TDs help as well. I took Deuce in the 5th round, as he was the best player available. I'll have to play this one by ear, but I don't think Reggie's going to significantly reduce his production. Taylor is a crapshoot as well, but I took him late and he is a starting RB. He'll have good weeks and for where I took him, I don't see much risk. All my WRs are #1 WRs on their team, except for Clayton, who has been the #1 guy before and I feel will resume that spot this year. Even if he doesn't, I just need one guy besides SSmith to step up. Once they get put on the site, I'll try and list the opposing rosters for context, because I can't remember anyone else's team clearly blowing anyone away. OK, the guy who kept LJ as a 4th round pick had an unfair advantage and his team rocks, but there's not much to be done about that!
bcn111 0 Posted August 27, 2006 I like Delhomme a lot this year, especially since he has someone to throw besides SSmith I think that RB is a little weak unless either Deuce or Taylor can stay healthy (big if with Fragile Freddy and Deuce coming back from ACL) I really like LJ Smith this year - McNabb has to throw to someone. Overall, not bad, but I'd be a little concerned about the flex postion.
psunate77 0 Posted August 27, 2006 Solid double points with Jake and Smith... That could make up for a lack of a running back, I do like Jacobs, if you plan on playing him, he will get ya some points.

Trade Edge and land a better receiver and a lesser back like a chester taylor...
