Trade for R.Williams or make offer for S.Smith?

Roy Williams stock is down a bit in one of my leagues. The owner is unimpressed with him so far, but he just played 2 really good D's. The "guarantee" I think is turning the owner off to him as well. Plus Williams is just sitting on his bench. He has been playing Stallworth and Welker (we get points for return yards). I have the Bengals and the Eagles DST. He has offered me Roy Williams for the Eagles. I could use another WR sinc Housh and Branch havn't played a game yet. I thought about offering him the Eagles for Stallworth instead. I have Stallworth in both of my other leagues and he ahs been golden so far. However, I like having 2 good DST's and playing matchups. Should I accept the trade, counter, or just reject it?

RB - R.Brown, C.Taylor, D.McAllister, J.Norwood

WR - Houshmandzadeh, Branch, M.Jones, Ma. Clayton, Gabriel

TE - Heap

K - Kasay

DST - Bengals, Eagles

 

His roster:

QB - Grossman, T.Green

RB - Rudi, KJ, Droughns, Gado

WR - Stallworth, R.Williams, Welker, Cotchery, K-Rob

TE - Shockey

K - Rackers

DST - Washington

 

Also, another owner in this same league is asking me for an offer for Steve Smith or Colston. Should I make an offer?

 

He has Reggie Bush, so I might be able to package Deuce and another WR for Smith.

 

His roster:

QB - Brees, C-Pep

RB - Bush, Gore, Betts, Turner

WR - S.Smith, Walker, R. Moss, Jennings, Colston, Cribbs

TE - Winslow

K - Akers

DST - Ravens

If he's offering you Roy Williams in exchange for the Eagles, I say go for it - don't worry about counter offers...just accept and get it done.

 

Roy will rebound - they will "get" the Martz offense eventually.

 

The Eagles are a decent D/ST, but they aren't scoring much in my league and they are actually a FA. Losing the Freak won't help them, though they have depth on the D-line.

I would try to get Stallworth. Be very weary of Smith. I know he is one of the premiere receivers in the league, however, this is a guy who is 5'10 and depends on speed and vision. Hamstring injuries tend to nag and become re-aggrevated as the season progresses. On the flip side, now may be the time to get him cheap..but I think the Eagles D for Stallworth is the safer option.

I like the Eagles for Williams better than for Stallworth. Detriot will be much better starting for the GB game this week. The Eagles will not get anywhere after losing Kearse. Stallworth will not produce similar numbers on a weekly basis. He is at most inconsistent.

i would go with stallworth over roy williams. take that trade if he bites, and if he doesnt go with roy as that trade is good for you also.

I don't think u really need 2 Defenses. I would do the Stallworth for the Eagles D. Stallworth is going to be a fantasy stud this year. Look how fast him and McNabb have established a rapport. Philly is just what Stallworth needed.

No way he gives you Stallworth for the Eagles D. If you're really high on Stallworth, make a counter offer, but offer more than just the Eagles D. If you don't want to offer more than that, then I'd say definitely make the trade for Roy.

I would take either WR for a Def. Two years ago I played musical Def from week to week with help from here based on match ups and that worked really well.

No problem with the counter, but I hope you left his original offer open. If he rejects your counter, you should jump on that right away.
