J5 0 Posted September 20, 2006 I have Favre and Kitna as my qb's, should I drop Kitna for Grossman? Kitna has posted good completion numbers and hasn't thrown any int's. I still think his upside is high as he has done this vs. Seattle and Chicago, but Grossman is the early stand out player of this season, and he won't be available after this. What do you think? Beyond Chaos 75 Posted September 20, 2006 I'd say hold on to Kitna simply because as the weather gets colder it may be harder for Grossman to post the same numbers on a week to week basis. Since Detroit plays in a dome, at least half the time Kitna will be in a controlled climate (plus minnesota 1x). In fact, Det plays only 3 maybe 4 cold games late in the season (@NYJets 10/22, @NE 12/3, and @GB 12/17, maybe @Dal 12/31) Detroit also looks to have a soft schedule (although its tough for them). Grossman has yet to play a great D, while Kitna, as you stated, has played both Chi and Seattle's Ds. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Especially considering this is your backup, grossman has a TON more potential. and besides, no one out there is going to pick up Kitna right now, so he'll be on the wire if something were to change... jdoll 0 Posted September 20, 2006 As a Bears fan, I like Grossman and would've picked him up in one league but I have A. Smith as one of my QBs and they have the same bye week. That said, I think Kitna is a better start this week vs the Pack then Grossman vs the Viqueens. In the long run, Grossman has much more upside. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Right now kitna is ranked as the 16th best qb while rex is sitting at #4 (ff points in my leage). Roy and KJ are the only weapons in Det and Chi has TJ, Des,Mush and now Berrian plus top 3 Def.
