12-team league, (.5ppr), Keeper league (any 5 players can carry over, unlimited # of years)

My team is:

C.Johnson, A.Bryant, E.Wilford, G.Jennings, C.Henry

A.Gates

M.Stover

Minn def.

Upgrade at QB, possibly pick up V. Young while his stock is low (trust me on this one)

Keep LT, C. Johnson, A. Bryant, Gates, and possibly Plummer (but it depends on how his season goes). I would drop one of your lesser RB's and pick-up another QB or possibly WR if you can find one.

Thanks for the answer on mine!

Even though Stover is money ... he's also waivable, or tradable.

You need to upgrade at QB. Who's available on the wires? If you wanna think future, grab Jared Lorenzon. Eli Manning's handcuff. He's about 6' 5" and 280 ... and he can run! I think the Giants even have plays, prolly goal line ... where they put in all the biggest fockers they have and Lorenzon takes the QB sneak. I think the QB sneak is ghay ... but how could you stop that?

He also "whips" the ball kinda like Elway. His accuracy is ... uncanny. Does no look passes, where it seems even the receiver is surprised it just ended up right in his hands. If, God forbid, Eli ever went down. He's HUGE. Literally. Bigger than Culpepper.

im not sure what these guys are talking about...

if you really want to look to immediate futre...grab schaub fom ATL.

hes a free agent after this year, and will likely end a starter somewhere like minnesota...

also, since you can start 3 RBs, def keep at least 3 of your RBs...

including maroney

try to capitalize on bryant or jennings being a 'hot commodity right now for anothe rplayer you might like.

bryant has talend, but has attitude problems that will affect things sooner rather than later.

also, i see gates dropping closer to the pack with brees gone.see how this yerar goes, but i wouldt keep him in the future (depending on what other TEs are kept) but TE offers soem of the best value right now.

Thanks "junk", you offered some good insight. Here's who I was planning on keeping after this year and maybe for the next 2-3 years:

Tomlinson, Maroney, C.Taylor

C.Johnson

A.Gates

(possibly Norwood if the situation is right)

.........I don't know what those guys were talking about keeping a quarterback. (we can only start one)

quallity RBs are hard to find in the draft. The first round is usually a few rookie RBs, the top notch QBs and and #2 WRs. then the 2nd round is more #2 WR's and the worst of the RBs that split carries.

Any other help?

I'd be concerned with upgrading my team for this year and quick!

Don't even worry about the fact that it is a keeper league. Worry about competing this year, because you already have 6 potential keepers: LT, Taylor, Moroney, CJ, Gates, and Jennings. If, in improving your team, you pick up a player who will upgrade any of these as a keeper, then fine. About 1/2 of your team has no trade value, so I would be 'quick to the wire' ie aggressive with waiver and free agent pick-ups. In a 12 team league it is not that hard and as you know, you missed out on some value already.

Yes, your QB's suck. Upgrade with experienced QB's, don't you dare take a flier on any rookie QB's (a common mistake of Keeper League noobs) And that includes avoiding Young. I'm not even sure he is the best of the lot. Think Smith, Carr or better.

Norwood is not a keeper! He is contracted through next year at least. The only real keeper type back-up out there are Turner, Schaub, and Musa Smith. And that assumes they land in the right situation. The only one I'd target late season is Turner.

BTW I know you've been a poster for years, so I'm kinda suprised to see you asking for this kind of advice with your keeper league team.

Thanks MMF. I can tell you're experienced. I'm going to be spending my entire season looking to upgrade my QB on the WW (I did the same thing last year winning the championship with Ferrotte and McCown as my final 2 QBs on my roster). I won't touch V.Young with a 10 foot pole. I only have a certain amount of free agent $ to go after players throughout the year. I'm going to stay patient and something will open up via injury to QB from high-powered offense or players dropping good QB's late in the season (if they are out of the playoffs) looking for deep sleeper RBs who could turn into keeper RBs during the offseason.

The whole Norwood idea was only if Atlanta doesn't pick up Dunn's option next year/he retires/career ending injury. In any of those circumstances I think Norwood could become a stud. But I highly doubt any of those scenarios would happen.

I'm actually targeting M.Smith this week on WW, and my brother stole Turner in the draft a round before I thought he'd go.

BTW...I haven't been a poster for years. I've only been on here a couple of months. But yes, I do know what I'm doing, but I was just hoping to get some insight from some other smart players. I didn't expect much, but there's always a chance you can find a little good advice.
