DanXIII 8 Posted September 23, 2006 ...since it looks like Westbrook is going to be hurt for the remainder of the season! Anyway, I'm in a PPR league, and Westbrook has consistently outperformed Edge. I'm really down on Edge since he's been in Arizona, he doesn't seem like the same guy and there are too many stars on that team. I've benched Westy in favor of Edge both weeks so far, and I've been burned both weeks. What would you do? Roll the dice and hope Westbrook really isn't hurt that bad, or go with what will likely be perpetual mediocrity in Edge? Leave link, will answer yours. Melvinbet 5 Posted September 23, 2006 As long as Westbrook is starting he's a good play. He's got a bone on bone condition that swells up after each game and limits his practice. See mine please
joho2o 0 Posted September 23, 2006 i would go with edge this week, he has a pretty good matchup and westy is questionable. hth
pmatz 0 Posted September 23, 2006 Given health concerns, I'd go with Edge. I also like his matchup this week quite a bit. I think he'll put a good performance out there, finally. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=236363
niner16 0 Posted September 23, 2006 I think you gotta go with Westbrook. His receptions and yards make him more valuable.
NebraskaRRT 0 Posted September 23, 2006 Tough call. Due to PPR I guess i would play Bwest until he is very broken. Edge will have an ok season, nothing like his indy years.
ramblin'wreck 0 Posted September 23, 2006 I would bench Westbrook this week since he may not be 100% Thanks for helping with mine
elboobster 0 Posted September 23, 2006 Westy because of his receptions would be my call. Good luck. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=236372
capmeo 0 Posted September 23, 2006 PPR league, I would go with Westbrook.
Illini4evr 0 Posted September 23, 2006 Go with Westbrook, as much as people are talking about his injuries he should be fine gameday and produce good numbers in a solid shootout. Keep watch to make sure his status doesn't change and if it does be ready with Edge.
DspSphinx 0 Posted September 23, 2006 I would take a look at the Defense that each player is going against. Otherwise you might as well just flip a coin. Edge St. Louis Defense Avg Rushing Yards Allowed Per Game = 144 Rushing TDs allowed = 2 Avg Receiving Yards Per Game = 185.5 Recieving TDs allowed = 1 Westbrook San Fran Defense Avg Rushing Yards Allowed Per Game = 101 Rushing TDs allowed = 1 Avg Receiving Yards Per Game = 243 Recieving TDs allowed = 4 Looking at the Defensive stats I would lean more to starting Westbrook (Depending on if he starts) over Edge due Westbrook being a better receiving back than Edge. Edge had 7 catches last week, not bad for a ppr leauge. Edge all day baby!!!!!!!!
Illini4evr 0 Posted September 23, 2006 Westbrook is always more prime for PPR leagues. He is notorious for being as much of a reciever as a RB. I'm saying go with Westbrook if he plays, he's been nothing but solid so far.
dats007 1 Posted September 23, 2006 I just saw on Sportscenter that Westbrook is likely to play this week against the 9ers, so gettim in the line-up and talk trades after his matchup with Green Bay in week 5. (Faces Dallas, New Orleans, Tampa Bay and Jacksonville before they have a BYE in week 9! <---OUCH!!! All that = tough match-ups defensively to me.) By the way, thanks for replying to mine earlier this afternoon.
mike06 0 Posted September 23, 2006 id go with the safer play in edge, and he has potential for great upside. i think arizona will be leading this game so id expect 20+ carries from him which should equal around 100 and a score http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=236426
