QB Help... Make this move?

Recommended Posts

Culpepper just isn't getting it done this yr. I mean if he can't do it aganist the titans, who can he throw aganist... should i drop him and pick up Leinert? I have Favre too, and will likely start him this week because Green Bay will have to throw the ball 60 times to keep in the game..

So should i drop Culpepper for Leinert?

I wouldn't. I know C-pepp has struggled, but Leinert might also. Culpepper if due for a big game and I think you will be glad you kept him. Besides with Favre, you don't need Leinert...that's kind of what you told me on my question...thanks for that

I'd drop CP. He3 is just too inconsistant and it will alot of "confedence building" for him to start playing well. I don't remember him heaving too many good games without Moss. Favre is a good bet, GB is mostly a pass offence. Leinart may not bea whole lot better that CP but, he is a rookie with alot to prove and he has Larry Fitzgerald. Go with Leinart

You got Favre that you can start... Culpepper has proven not to be much this year. Grab Leinert as a flyer with the best 1-2 WR combo in the league! Warner put up great points every week (minus the turnovers) so the machine is there.

Only thing to look out for is if Warner has a minor injury and out for a week OR he is benched long term...

I tend to agree with the majority and would hang onto Culpepper. I also am waiting for him to do something. Worse case if you keep him and does nothing is that he is the def. starter barring injury while Leinart might suck and suck and warner could be interspered with him. HANG tough only three weeks in. Def FArve this week, he will be throwing..

Please see mine, GOOD LUCK!

Culpepper is not the player he once was. He doesn't have the mobility, strength, vision, or confidence. That isnt to say he won't improve as he gets the hang of his new offense. On the other hand, Lienart has much more upside. He doesnt have the NFL experience D.C. has, but he has many more weapons and a better team. Since both QBs are learning new offenses, it seems to me that Lienart, with all the weapons, is the smart choice.

All that being said- it sounds like everyone on this thread is back on the Brett Favre bandwagon. I'd like to see him have another good game against a worthy opponent before I annoint him a #1 starter.

Thanks for helping with mine.

I wouldn't make that move. Not only is Culpepper still working off the rust and may get better as the season goes on, but Leinart is a total unknown and may be even worse. And Warner was just named the starter again so who knows if Leinart will actually play this year. You're better off platooning CPep and Favre based on the matchups and hope one starts playing well consistently.

I wouldn't do it. Too many unknowns with Leinart. Almost all rookie qb's do poorly. Favre is a decent enough qb to start - definitly better than Leinart. IMO, cpep will suck all year. I am a mn homer and have watched him for years. Can't read a defense, forces throws, stares down wr's, and puts the ball on the ground all the time. Once Moss left, he was exposed. But since you have Favre, I'd hang on to him in case he can turn things around. If he can manage a couple good games, dump him.
