throttlers 0 Posted October 19, 2006 In one of my leagues, I am 3rd in overall points, but I'm in 8th because of my record (2-3-1). A couple of wins will move me way up in the rankings based on points. The 4 teams directly ahead of me are 3-3 but have fewer points. This is a 12 team league with 1 keeper. It is fairly standard scoring except that we get 1 point for every 10 return yards. The trade I have been offered is Welker(gets a lot of return yards) and K.Jones for C.Taylor, Roy Williams and Branch. Right now KJ has scored about 30 points more than aylor, but Taylor has started with a tough schedule and he is past his BYE already. I'd give just a ery slight edge to KJ, but almost even. Welker has scored 20 points more than Roy W (mainly because of return yardage), but Roy started slow and is now on fire. He also missed most of a game with injury. I'd say these 2 are also about even, with a slight edge to Roy. Giving him Branch also woud tip the trade strongly in his favor I believe. I do like the idea of trading for KJ and maybe Welker, but I think he's asking to much. Should I counter offer or just stick with what I have? My Roster: QB - Palmer, Leftwich RB - R.Brown, C.Taylor, Deuce, B.Jacobs WR - Roy Williams, Housh, Branch, Gabriel, M.Jones TE - Heap (need to pick up a bye week filler for this week) K - Kasay DST - Bengals, Colts His Roster: QB - Bulger, Leinart RB - Rudi, KJ, Gore, Washington, T.Thompson WR - Welker, Moss, Stallworth, Cotchery, Bennett TE - Shockey K - Rackers DST - Eagles On a side note, I traded him the Eagles for R.Williams earlier in the year. We have made a few other offers back and forth. He seems to be interested in Branch, because Branch comes into almost every offer he makes.
rlb72 0 Posted October 19, 2006 thanks for answering mine. only problem i see with your deal is that you will have ronnie brown and KJ both off in week 8. as for branch, if you feel strongly about not getting enough ask for bennett in return.
nosferatu9368 0 Posted October 19, 2006 I could be wrong but this trade seems crazy, you are giving up 2 starting WR's for a guy who gets a few return yards a game? Absolutely not!!! First off i'd rather have Taylor than KJ. IMO you are gonna get robed in this trade. If you really want KJ and Welker offer him Palmer, Taylor & Branch for Bulger, KJ & Welker. That is much closer to fair. Good Luck Peace...
A Dido Brother 0 Posted October 19, 2006 I wouldn't give up Taylor. I just traded for him because of his favorable schedule coming up. Roy Williams is a stud. I wouldn't give him up. I think you're set with your lineup as it is.

I'm trying to get it changed for next year. But we get a point for every 10 punt return or kick return yards. Welker's last game he had 100 return yards. The week before he had 121. He won't get that every week, but he's pretty much a lock for somewhere between 50-100. He also gets 5-6 catches a game for about 50-60 yards. I still like Roy a little more, but Welker gets more than just a few return yards a game.
bobpate17 0 Posted October 20, 2006 I think u r giving up too much at WR. don't do this trade. please look at mine. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=245720
ramblin'wreck 0 Posted October 20, 2006 I would stick with what you have. Chester's schedule comes the fantasy playoff time is a cake. Roy Williams will be a stud. But if you really want to make a trade, try Branch/Brown for KJones or Gore. Branch's value is high riht now. Please vote for a QB for me... http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=245551
rastamon420 0 Posted October 20, 2006 Hi Throttles, Thanks for answering mine. Although I'm a Texas Tech alum and given the scoring system of your league - Welker does look like an enticing grab, but I think your roster is savvy as is. As nos said, you would be giving up two WR's and like you said in mine, Williams is on fire (with Kitna heating up too). Given that Johnson's drawing all the DBL's, Housh is a solid #2. Other than the fact I had a very bizarre dream (may have been the Vicodin I took) last night that Chester Taylor got cut this season - I know, weird! - I think your team is solid. You are just like me....I'm in 6th place, but have the most points in the league......I think we just need to let it play out! Thanks again and good luck!
