Bottles 0 Posted October 20, 2006 Ok here's the situation. MY WRs are stacked, my RBs lacking a little. I also have Heap on a bye this week, and some other bye issues such that the only way I can start a TE is via trade. However, this may not be a bad thing. My team is 6-0 in first place in a ten team league, and I could win this week w/o TE as I'm playing a weaker team. My league has a little funky scoring where the value of yards are depressed (relative to TDs and catches) 20 yards/point, 6 pts. TD, full point-per-reception. The trade is this: I give up: Lee Evans and Willis McGahee (Evans is my #5 WR behind Harrisson, DJAx, Housh and Andre Johnson) I get: Randy McMicahel (probably just holding for one week, I think he'll put up about 6 fan. pts. this week) and Dunn/Chester Taylor/Tiki Barber. He won't do Barber, I'm fairly sure. He has offered Dunn, but I don't think I'd do this, I'd want Chester Taylor (easier schedule, more catches) plus Dunn is not a step up from McGahee based on average fantasy points this season. Avg. Fantasy points so far Barber 10.63 Taylor 9.09 Dunn 8.13 McGahee 8.51 So, make a deal like this or not? Thoughts?
Yahoo Wahoo 0 Posted October 20, 2006 Just to make sure: you aren't getting rid of Heap, right? Ok, good. Six points... to have to give up Evans. Are you trading with a good team in your league or a bad team? That matters because your RB and WR are not bad. They could be starters for the other team. Since you only need a TE for one week (and not really because you should be able to win against this team) you are really trading your WR and RB for a different running back. So now the question is: do you trade Evans and McGhee for Taylor? Maybe. I like Taylor's schedule better and points (in your league), but it sure would be awful to have this trade bite you in the butt when your opposing team wins by playing the dudes you traded for a guy whose points weren't even going to matter anyway. Let me hear your thoughts on this: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=246013

The schedule really opens up near the end of the season too. The Vikings O-Line is too good to not improve as the season goes on.
Grossman=Ruin 0 Posted October 20, 2006 Thanks for mine. I'm not so sure I would do that deal. I'm still not sold on Taylor making it through an entire season with a run-heavy coach. Plus, I can't imagine that you would play Randy over Heap after this week and Evans should net you more in return in the future. You're 6-0 and if you feel confident you can beat your opposing team this week without a TE, I would try and do so. I hate to say this but a loss probably wouldn't hurt you anyway. Bottomline: I wouldn't do it if it were me.
