Need helping packaging players in a Keeper league

16 team league, keep 10 each offseason plus 2-round rookie draft.

 

Here's my team:

 

QB: Brunell, Huard, Green

RB: LT, Willie Parker, Kevin Jones, Norwood, Turner

WR: Chambers, Houshmandzadeh, Bennett, Jurevicius, Randle El, Jerry Porter, Nate Washington

TE: Heath Miller, Jason Witten

 

K: Mare (bye week fill in), Carney

DEF: New Orleans, Miami (bye week fill in)

 

 

I want to make some trades to improve now and in the future. I'm looking for a young(er) QB that I can start for at least 2-3 years, if not longer.

 

I'm worried about stocking up on too much talent and having to cut quality players because I can't keep them.

 

I know my keepers will be LT, Parker, Jones, Chambers, Housh, 1-2 TEs, Bennett -- that is 7-8 players

Add in at least 1 QB, thats 8-9.

Then there are the players who could break out next year... Porter, Norwood, and Turner. I can only keep 1-2.

This is assuming I keep no DEF's or K's, which I probably will not.

 

 

Who should I package together and trade away, and who should I look for in return?

 

 

An offer that was on the table was Eli Manning/Deion Branch for K.Jones/Brunell/Norwood.

I wanted El or Jurevicius in place of Norwood, since I think Norwood will take over for Dunn in a year or 2.

Owner14 -- has Grossman, Eli, and Schaub -- needs RBs bad, lack of WR depth

Owner13 -- Vick and Alex Smith -- questionable RBs and WRs in depth and future

Owner12 -- Rivers, Leinart, Favre, Rodgers -- Weak RBs

Owner10 -- McNabb and Roethlisberger -- weak WRs

Owner9 -- P.Manning and Brees -- weak depth at WR/RB

Owner5 -- Brady and Palmer -- weak RB future, all 4 WRs from CAR and ARI (Boldin, Smith, Bryant, Carter)

Owner4 -- Delhomme, Young -- unproven RB depth, Dunn only real starter - lack of WR depth

Owner2 -- Hasselback, Gradikowski, Losman -- Burress/Bryant only future at WR (Welker, Kennison)

 

 

Start: 1 QB, 3 WR, 2 RB, 1 TE, 1 TE/WR, 1 WR/RB, 1 K, 1 DEF

I've never done dynasty or keeper leagues so if my suggestions are way off, please excuse me. To get talent you'll have to give up talent, we all know that. The talented players on your roster that i would try to trade are chambers, kevin jones, eithre norwood or turner(they'll be worth more than kjones in my opinion, someone will want those guys bad). You're QB's are brutal so you'll need help there. Maybe shaub, he's an UFA after this year so he might be a good pick up. Aaron rodgers, jason campbell, david garrad, those are some good young qb's have low value now but could be good later on. Throw in jay cutler too.

 

The only bona-fide keepers that i would keep are LT, Willie, and Housh. I think everyone else should be tradeable in your book. Even Willie might be a good RB to trade since he has high value. Pitt loves to run the ball and they like to have a power back to go with willie. They couldnt fill the bruiser RB spot this year but maybe they will next year. If you can trade willie for a sjax that could work out.

 

As far as targets i'd go after QB's first then WR's. You have two excellent young RB's waiting to shine and your TE's are solid. Defenses and Kickers are hard to project and unless you have a consistent top-3 D like balt, car, diego, philly, denver, and there might be 2-3 more you could add, i would start over at D every year. Same thing with kickers. How far Rackers has fallen. The only guy i wouldn't trade is LT. He's like shaq, theres no way you could replace him. It would take a stupid trade to get LT, something like holt, Sjax, Deuce, and Andre Johnson. Find a qb who will start in a year or 2 and until that qb starts, you'll be able to find a fill-in for one season. Tavarius Jackson is a good young QB too. Kellen Washington from the jets.

what about picking up a QB like cutler? Try trading norwood to the guy with dunn. You need a QB. Are you winning this year? if you are i would worry about keepers. I think you have a nice looking team for next year

I want to look ahead towards the future/next season a little early, and get some help this season if I can.

Waiting til the end of the year and trying to make trades doesn't work too well.

I think u need better QB. try to get young or delh from dunn's owner. and give norwood.

I'm not sold on Young yet. He's improving, but I don't know if he can be a top 16 FF QB for me week in and week out. I might try trading for him if I can get him relatively cheap though.
