Trade away my 1st round rookie pick for Reggie Brown?

Someone in one of my dynasty leagues offered me Reggie Brown in return for my 1st round rookie pick next year. It is a 1 pt per reception league and my team is listed below in my sig.

 

Obviously, I do need help at WR, but I am 2-5 after some unlucky scheduling, which if the season ended right now I would have the #3 rookie pick. I was going to reject it right away due to this fact, but Reggie Brown is only in his 2nd year and is a top 10 WR this year. With the rookie pick next year, it may be a player who becomes a good one, but you never know.

 

There are many pros and cons to this move, but what do you think you would do in my situation? I would like to hear the reason why you would do it as well. I will help out with your question if you have one as well.

Go with your first instinct, reject it. A #1 pick has much more value than Reggie.

 

Whoever offered it knows what they are doing...just hold on to it.

I wouldn't do it either. Reggie Brown has had a good start to the season, but it's too early to tell, IMO. Who knows what will happen when/if Stallworth comes back. I think you could do better with/for your first pick.

Why are some people putting Donte Stalworth over Reggie Brown...I think they are similar talents, but I think Brown is developing a great relationship with McNabb and they are getting to know each other's habits and such...and who says that Stalworth is gonna stay healthy...take Brown because he has got a GOOD thing going and as long as McNabb can stay healthy Brown is gonna be a guy he goes to a lot. You never know with rookies anyways who is gonna be gold and who is gonna be a BUST...my thoughts is you can find a diamond in the rough later. Just my thouughts.

I wouldn't give up first round pick. stallworth is always deep threat and Mcnabb loves to throw down the ground. I would wait untill stallworth returns and see how that goes before getting brown.

Bump - I'm a little surprised so many think I should not do this. He is the 7th ranked WR...this is a dynasty league and I thought getting a good young player for an unknown would at least have it close to split 50/50.

while i think this is a close call, i have to agree with the others to not do it. reggie is still somewhat of an unknown. he's sort of been the #1 option on his team by default so far.

Philly traded for stallworth so they can provide Mcnabb with some solid WR. do u think hey are not going to use him when he is healthy?? stallworth can run deep and Mcnabb can throw deep. as soon as Stallworth returns I would expect brown's #s to go down. but if u really want to do this trade then wait untill stallworth is back and healthy and see how that goes for couple of games. If brown still produces as he is right now then go for it. thanks for mine.

I think your trading partner sees the writing on the wall for Reggie and is trying to sell high. I'd reject that sucker.
