Russell in great spot with weak QB class, I'm surprised Brohm didn't declare with Petrino leaving, but they made his brother assistant head coach. Not surprising all the RBs that came out with a weak senior class and a potentially loaded class with underclassmen next year. Peterson and Lynch go to the head of the class. Amazing WR class with almost all those declaring Day One picks and quite a few potential first rounders. A solid OT class missed being stacked with Jake Long, Sam Baker, and Kirk Barton deciding to stay. A strong DE class is outstanding with Jamal Anderson, Charles Johnson, and Jarvis Moss joining. Glenn Dorsey was a surpise in not declaring, so Alan Branch moves to the top of the list. Depth at LB solidified by underclassmen. Revis could be the first CB drafted. Tommy Z seemed to be on his way out, but Reggie Nelson completes an appealing group of safeties.

I'm surprised Urrutia stayed as well. I guess he's probably better off not trying to battle these guys for position at the combine.

A guy to keep an eye out for is Brandon Jackson. He was in a 4-man RBBC at NU before emerging. I always thought he was the best back out of a bunch of top notch recruits. Not sure why Callahan didn't see that. I expect him to rise up the board a little. This years RB class didn't turn out to weak with all the backs that declared.

I agree I watched the NU-Texas Game and he looked great I think he could do very well, I am wondering where he will be drafted.

Another name I am curious about is Where Colt Brennan Will be picked and which team he will go to and also if he will ever have an impact on a team?

I think Urrutia was going to do whatever Brohm did. This is a stacked WR class and he is a great talent, but still raw. With Brohm back, he could put up some huge numbers and come out with substantially less competition to be an early Day One pick.

Jackson really came on strong in limited opportunites. He's definitely a guy who could rise with workouts. The senior class is weak, but, as usual, the underclassmen carry it. I still think it is top heavy and then up for grabs quickly, as their are a lot of question marks the rest of the way. Definitely a good year for steals, as I see teams will have several guys rated similarly and will wait to see which falls.

Where do you guys think Reggie Nelson gets drafted? Is he a first round pick, and if so, what part of the first round?

I'd love to see the Eagles get a guy like that.

He's pretty much the consensus second or third ranked safety. Probably last third of first round to early second if his workouts and such go as expected.

nfldraftcountdown.com's mock draft has RFN ranked as the 18th best player and going #22 to the Cowboys. http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/sub/mockdraft.html

The Cowboys have two clearly defined needs at offensive line and free safety but with there not being an o-lineman worthy of this pick on the board their decision becomes easy, although I'm not so sure they would take a Levi Brown over Reggie Nelson anyway. For years now the safety spot opposite Roy Williams has been a problem area for this team and in all honestly they haven't made much of an effort to address it via free agency or the draft. After yet another long season of seeing Williams get burnt in coverage something tells me that is going to change sooner rather than later though. It's really not Williams' fault as he's more suited to be an in-the-box type and by expecting him to cover wideouts deep you are simply asking for trouble. Nelson only has a couple of years of Division I experience but he has made the most of them and was one of the true impact defensive backs in the college game this past season. A ballhawk and playmaker in the secondary, some feel Nelson could even project to cornerback at the next level but in Dallas he'd be a perfect fit at safety and his coverage skills would finally provide an ideal compliment to Williams and help eliminate some of the big breakdowns that have haunted them.

Thanks. I guess nothing can really be definitive until after the combine.

Man he'd be the perfect guy to play next to Dawkins, and a great future leader for the Eagle's defense. From what I see and hear, the guy's a born leader and just has "it".

The Eagles are gonna need some size at safety if that run defense continues to get gashed, that's for damn sure.

Reggie Nelson and Lance Briggs. I need to see these names on the Eagle's roster next season. :D
