Missing Rookies in Projection Pal

Recommended Posts

Hi Mike,

I love the tools, but I was just updating all my projections in Projection Pal and it went haywire on me. Since I had no idea how to fix any of the errors, I decided to simply reinstall Projection Pal. Upon installing it, I was immediately surprised to even see Tiki Barber on the clean tab. I also noticed other names like Quentin Griffin, but thought nothing of it. When I saw the name "Maurice Drew" on the PP RB Clean Tab I really started to get confused. Now, I'm a Bruin, so I actually do call him Maurice Drew, but I know that the first version of PP I was using had Maurice Jones-Drew listed.

As I looked closer, however, it was clear I had a problem. There was only one Adrian Peterson listed on the RB Clean Tab. This made me curious and I realized there are no rookies period listed on the clean tabs of PP.

So, I downloaded the newest version of PP and the issue was the same. Although I know the names of many of the rookies it would be incredibly burdensome to add all of them. It appears that my version of PP is last year's version? Even when I download a new version, I have the same problem.

Is this an error on the zip file, and if so, is it going to be fixed soon? If not, is there some way I can fix this expeditiously? I'm trying to average your projections with another set as well as my own, and it would be pretty bad to have completely inaccurate cheatsheets because a bunch of players didn't have multiple sets of projections entered into them.

Thanks in advance and after using these great tools for three years now and seeing how well you take care of any "issues", I know things will be resolved quickly

Hey GDogg. I think I can resolve this pretty quickly. When you hit Copy to Compiler in Pal, what it does is copy the names from your Compiler file, put them on the Clean tab in Pal, Pal does the lookups, and then it copies back the projections. So, even though it shows last year's player list now, that will only be temporary.

Its come up a few times in these PP threads (which is fine if you've missed it, and I understand this in not very obvious)... it does not matter if the Clean tab is not picking up the projections from the Raw tab (errors, etc.) until after you've hit Copy to Compiler.

Now, I certainly didn't mean to keep last year's player list in there to create more confusion about the whole PP process, but its funny I don't know how I would have got it right for the initial 1.0 Pal and now went backwards in the 1.1 :dunno:

One thing to note there are a couple players who you'll probably have to change on the Raw tab once imported from another site:

- Adrian Peterson, CHI becomes ... Adrian Peterson (CHI)

- Adrian Peterson, MIN becomes ... Adrian Peterson (MIN)

- Steve Smith, CAR becomes ... Steve Smith (CAR)

- Steve Smith, NYG becomes ... Steve Smith (NYG)

Pal tries to change the names if it thinks a change is warranted, but since these names are identical and they play the same position, it doesn't know how to deal with these ones.

Mike,

Thanks a lot! All apologies. Everything is fixed. Actually, I should say that nothing was ever wrong. I copied everything over and all the names changed. Like you said, the only names I needed to change were Steve Smith and Adrian Peterson.

Thanks again, and if my repeated purchase of your products didn't already let you know, then I'll say it now...thank you and I love these tools.
