QB questions

Recommended Posts

I've got a pretty good group...but I'm a little weak at QB. I started Alex Smith last week and he really didn't get it done for me. Rivers could have a long night facing the Pats D and didn't really perform last week either. Tough call...who should I start?

Smith is one of my bottom 3 or 4 QBs in the NFL. I would start Rivers, as he can dump it to LT or Gates in a worst case scenario. Always go with the team with the most offensive talent. Please see mine:

Rivers is always a safe bet because LT and Gates are the easiest two targets to throw to in the NFL.

The Rams D isn't that great and the 49ers will probably be playing from behind a lot. This could be a good game for Smith. It's a risk but Rivers may not do any better this week.

I faced the exact same choice this week, and I chose Rivers:

-he's the QB of one of the most explosive offences in the league

-the Chargers look to have something to prove against the Pats and should come out firing on all cylinders

-the Niners may be running the ball a LOT against the Rams

-Smith is the greater risk of laying an egg (and I say this as a Niners fan), something you cannot afford at the QB position

But I could be wrong....
