Lesman 1 Posted September 24, 2007 Ya, I know I'm an idiot for this, but I focked up at my draft and had week 5 listed as Fred Taylor's bye week instead of 4. Well now I have 4 out of five RBs off this week. Need to start 2. Since everyone in my league now realizes this, and no one want to make a trade with me. I still have a few possible trades yet that I need to try to get done, but none of them look like they will happen My Backs are Portis, Betts, McGahee, L. White, and Taylor. The question is if I can't get a trade done by my Thursday waiver deadline, should I: A. Drop Fred, for a turd fill in. There's not much available on the wire. D. Wynn, M.Pittman are probably the best available. Hopefully I could pick him back up the following week. B. Drop Betts for a bye week turd. C. Take my goose-egg for that spot like a man, and keep my current backs. I probably have a better chance of picking Betts back up the following week, but I would rather have Betts on my roster that Taylor for the rest of the year, since Betts would be more valuable to be if Portis were to get hurt. So I think I lose more if Betts were lost on the waiver wire that I do if I lost Taylor. I'm not willing to drop White, as he will be a low cost keeper for next year. Leave a link and I'll try to help you out...
mdbomb 5 Posted September 24, 2007 Sounds like you'll be at full strength for your RB's the rest for the year. If you are 3-0, 2-1, or even 1-2 at this point I'd stand pat and hope for the best this week. If you are 0-3 you may need to get deperate.
pjschissler 0 Posted September 24, 2007 tough spot especially if nobody wants to trade with you....I would say of the options I like dropping Fred Taylor better than Betts. Problem is that Wynn would be against Vikes D coming up and Pitmann, probably not worth dropping Taylor though.....so I hate to say it but I would eat this week and live to fight another day with the options provided...but look for a possible trade...do you have a better kicker or defense that you could swap with another to help get a decent option? please help on mine....my problem almost as bad for tonight...hahahahaha http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=290426
ThatGuy25 0 Posted September 24, 2007 I would drop Fragile Fred in a heartbeat. He won't hold up this year, and I would never be comfortable starting him ever. Don't take a goose-egg, at least pick up some turd like you said. You could always pick up Fred later.
Lesman 1 Posted September 24, 2007 Its a total point league, not Head to Head. We do have weekly payouts for the top scoring team of the week. It is however a very competitive league, and every 5-10 possible points matters. Hopefully I can work a trade, but it doesn't look likely. Only possible deal in place right now is Freddy for Julius Jones, which seems like a worse option that the Waiver Wire right now. Still like to hear some more opinions... Roaminggator 0 Posted September 24, 2007 Julius is on a better offense, you could do worse.
mec411 0 Posted September 24, 2007 Well you goofed, but whatever. I would probably man up and take the loss. Who knows, one back could do really well, and you could wind up winning. Some weeks, players do jack anyway, right? I guess it also depends, like someone said, on what your record is. If you are 0-3 then its hard to justify not making the WW move. But I think if you are 2-1 1-2 dont sweat it, tis a long year, and those guys are better than anyone else on the wire. thanks for mine
KSB2424 3,148 Posted September 24, 2007 Can you not drop QB T.Jackson? If so drop him and pick up Brian Leonard as he is starting for the Rams next week.
Lesman 1 Posted September 24, 2007 Can you not drop QB T.Jackson? If so drop him and pick up Brian Leonard as he is starting for the Rams next week. No. Max # of RBs is 5. Have to drop a RB. Leonard is already on a roster. Waiver options include: Dayne, Gado, Wynn, Pittman, Davenport, K. Watson.
