in a PPR league....

A Peterson is going to have a difficult schedule ahead of him and not to mention that RBBC in MInn...

I hate this trade for you.

 

It looks like he's trying to make good on Boldin's big game last week. There's trouble brewing at QB in AZ. Branch/Boldin are a coinflip, and AP has loads more potential than Benson imo (except maybe this week against DET).

I agree with King. This is an opportunity trade. He recognizes Boldin may not be long-term gold, which is why he's willing to part with him. I don't think Boldin will have a huge year considering he only had roughly 100 yds + 1 score in his first two games. Warner obviously targetted him in the comeback, but who knows if Warner will be starting often.

 

More importantly, Benson is on a team that is an absolute mess at passing. He has been given tons and tons of chances. And guess what? He hasn't done much. He's been held under 50 yds by all teams with a decent defense (this would exclude Kansas City's not-so-good run D). Only has one score.

 

I think Peterson is going to have a great rookie year. I expect lots of TDs out of him, more than anything.

I would not do the trade either based on AP's potentail and the fact the WR's are virtually a wash. I also think Benson's on a some what short leash. AP will still get his even when Chester returns.

Don't do the trade. It takes Benson about 20 carries to do what Peterson will do in 10. Plus at any given time AP can take it to the house from anywhere. Benson is a boring 4 yards at a time kind of back. The touchdowns should be relatively even but only because Minnesota is messed up on offense.

tough call. i could go either way. but based on the overwhelming response, i guess i'll go against it too. if you have the opportunity, check to see if griese bolsters the bears O (i'm doubting it). but that might spark benson.

Benson's really no upgrade. I'm a touch on the fence about ADs long term outlook and I was in unsuccsessful discussions to trade him in a package for Willie this week. Didn't happen, but you can see that I was going for a much bigger upgrade at RB than a guy like Benson, who I think is a downgrade.

 

Think of packages to get you a surer thing or maybe a top 10 back who's starter out a little slow.

In some form, you can see these guys being better to have than Benson. I wouldn't give up AD's upside unless i was getting something better.

 

I'm also not sure i'd rather have Boldin than Branch.. ARI's Qb sitch needs to be settled first.. and Branch could really take off in SEA sooner than later, IMO.

I'd say don't do it. I'm agreeing with most people here in the thread. I figure Boldin had his huge explosion, but probably won't stay high unless Warner becomes the full time starter. Benson/AP will probably get the same points no matter how many carries AP gets, so I think you'd be better off with what you have.
