jonvoights_toe 0 Posted November 2, 2007 An owner in my PPR (just for WR and TE) league has offered up Antonio Gates for a RB. I currently have Jason Witten. We start 2 RBs and I have Deshaun Foster, Clinton Portis, Marshawn Lynch and LT. Should I explore making a move here? I was thinking of offering Portis or Lynch. I am currently in 3rd place in my division. I am stocked at WR (start 2 and I have Wayne, Edwards, Driver, Branch, Curry and Chris Henry) but he doesn't want a receiver. Is Gates that big an upgrade over Witten at the expense of depth? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Leave a link and I'll check out yours. Thanks.
KSB2424 3,148 Posted November 2, 2007 I would offer Foster/Witten for Gates. If he doesn't like it, stay put.
Leshavelli 0 Posted November 2, 2007 I don't feel that you're as stocked at WR as you think. You have two great starters but the rest have underperformed. Maybe Branch will get healthy and perform up to par. Regarding the initial question. What are you going to do with Witten if you get Gates? They have been very comprable this year in total stats. That being said, Gates is going to thrive even more now that Chambers is on the field. You do have some depth at RB and I would consider Lynch or Portis for Gates. I expect both Portis and Lynch to have big games this week. Maybe you hold off on this trade until next week to increase the value of each player? My personal thought is to hold to offer Foster/Witten for Gates because you want the depth at RB. What happens if Lynch or Portis go down with an injury? You don't want to be stuck with Foster as your RB2. Witten is a quality TE that you can roll with from here on out and feel confident in doing so. Thanks for answering mine!
