Advice needed following draft

Recommended Posts

Just finished our draft. Picked at #4 out of 12 in a snake draft (which I hate).

Scoring - 6pts TD, 1pt/25PaYD, 1pt/10RuYD

QB - Tom Brady, Jeff Garcia

RB - Ryan Grant, Reggie Bush, DeAngelo Williams, Matt Forte, Fred Taylor

WR - Tory Holt, Jerricho Cotchery, Roddy White

TE - Greg Olsen

K - Nick Folk

DST - Minnesota Vikings, New York Giants

I'm solid at QB, K and DST, and I obviously have a lot of depth at running back, but I'm concerned that I lack a top 10 back, receiver or tight end. This draft just did not go well from the start and I'm not sure what to focus on between now and Week 1. Any advice is appreciated.

Start

BRADY

GRANT, REGGIE

HOLT, COTCHERY

VIKINGS

you are weak at RB, try to trade BRADY & (Forte/Williams/Taylor) for a top 5QB and a top 8RB.

help me out real quick...

Great QB and DEF. Good depth at RB. Don't like Holt this yr with a bad offensive line in STL and Bulger throwing to him. I think Roddy White is going to have another big yr with Ryan throwing him the ball. Don't like your TE but if he doesn't work out there are plenty of quality TE out there.

You're right. RB is definitely a weakness, but I wouldn't be too worried. True, you don't have a stud. But DeAngelo Williams has looked good so far in the preseason. Matt Forte is the best option on offense for the Bears. You have a few guys there that can emerge as viable options. I wouldn't go making huge moves right now just because you're a little uneasy.

I actually think Holt will be fine (and not just because I own him as well). There's nothing different from last year for him. The o-line was actually more of a concern. And he still had a Holt-like year. He's consistent, he's just not that "exciting" guy that everyone looks for.

Grant is going to be a workhorse, I like that pick. Brady is a no brainer. I think all 3 of your WR have big play ability. You should be able to hold your own.

Your WR are better than you think. Roddy White put up good numbers with some really bad QBs. He will match or get better numbers than last year with Ryan. Holt is solid.

Nto sure about Olsen @ TE though. Anything CHI scares me :shocking:

Not sure who your number 2 RB is.

That makes two of us :) As of right now it's Bush, but I have a feeling that will definitely be more of a week-to-week situational change...moreso than it should be. I expect to do that with my #3 WR...not my #2 RB.

That's called "All the top TE's went in Round 5-6" so I didn't pick a TE until Round 12. While they were picking TE's I got the Vikings DST and Cotchery, so I don't regret that one. If I'm going to have any position of liability I'd rather it be tight end.

So yeah, I'm not sure about Olsen either, but what can ya do? :shocking:

QBs...great,

RB's...good and I know I'm a homer but I really think RB will surprise you in a good way

W's...think you'll be pleasantly surprised by cothery and white and holt is always good and might be the top 10 wr you're looking for.

te, understand your position and did what you thought was best and will just accept what comes from it

K, good

D, great

So overall, I wouldn't really try to do anything at this point, let your team develop and see what happens as I do believe you will be in a good spot from the get go....I think you should make the playoffs with this team.

I would not be quick to trade Brady, but if you could get a decent QB back and an upgrade at RB, for Brady and one your RB's I think I would be open to a trade. You have a couple of RB's that may be ok - but right now there are questions: Bush, Grant (maybe sharing carries), Williams (same).

Thanks for mine!
