Dolomite 0 Posted August 5, 2004 My league deducts points for incomplete passes. Is there a way to account for that in the Compiler? I see "pass attempts" and "pass completions" - can those be finagled to come up with negative points for incompletions?
Mike MacGregor 20 Posted August 6, 2004 Yes they can be used together to create scoring for incompletions. Suppose you score -1 point per 1 incompletion. The scoring you would need to enter is: -1 per pass attempt +1 per completion Let's see if I've got this: QB throws 2 for 5: 3 incompletions = -3 OR -5 + 2 = -3 QB throws 4 for 9: 5 incompletions = -5 OR -9 + 4 = -5 QB throws 0 for 4: 4 incompletions = -4 OR =4 + 0 = -
elkieholics 0 Posted August 6, 2004 Our league runs it a bit different, so the above math doesn't wok.... If my QB went 4 for 9, it would be -1 point. +4 for completions and -5 for incompletions. So I guess you could come up with it doing the following. -.5 for attempts and +1 for completions.... same example would get you -.45+4 = -.5.... I think the math would lose it a bit with different combinations, but it may be close enough.
dkmcdonn 0 Posted August 12, 2004 Do do this you have to put -1 for an attempt and +2 for a completion. So in effect when the QB throws the ball it is -1 right off the bat and then if it is completed it is +2 for a total of +1 for the completion. If the QB does not complete the pass it is -1 for the attempt and 0 for the completion, for a total of -1 It works out.
