Do I need to upgrade my QB?

Recommended Posts

I am getting a little concerned with Rothelisberger and that shoulder. One of the other owners is offering me Eli Manning for Brandon Jacobs straight up. Typically I would say "no-brainer", but trading Jacobs would leave LenWhale White as my #2. I have Westy as my #1 RB with T.O., Fitzy, and Marshall as my starting WR's.

So am I hitting the panic button a little early on Ben, or should I get Eli and sacrafice a solid #2 RB? I could drop Jason Campbell and roster both Ben and Eli.

BTW, I am 1-0 and 14 pts away from going 2-0 with T.O. and Westy tonight.

I would keep Ben and Jacobs. Jacobs is a very solid #2, and I think you will be happy keeping him. Ben is going to be fine. They didn't look so hot last night, but I wouldn't throw him away quiet yet. I'd say give him another week.

-Back to my questions sorry for not clarifying. We can start 3 WR's.

T.J House is playing NYG.

Randy Moss is playing Miami. (Idk bout Cassell though)

Hines Ward is playing Philly.

Steve Smith is playing Minnesota

Your WR's are solid. I don't know if I would want to trust my #2 RB spot to Lendale. I think you may be better with Ben/Jacobs vs. Eli/Lendale.

Until Eli really shows consistency I don't think he's a better option for you than Ben is. I also have concerns as a Ben owner, but they were also playing in pretty bad weather last night and he still put up decent numbers. In my league, Ben was better than Eli week 1, and Eli had a great week against the lowly Rams. The other owner is selling high, I wouldn't buy.

Thanks for mine.

I don't think you should do it. Big Ben will tough it out, from what i head its nothing that will keep him out just something he has to deal with. I think that after pittsburgh's week 5 bye Ben will be feeling a lot better. Jacobs is definatly a better option then Lendale. I would look to see whos on free agency maybe get O'sullivan(really good playoff schedule)

Roethlisberger(O'Sullivan, Campbell)& Jacobs > Roethlisberger(Eli), Lendale

Ed Bouchette, who is essentially Mr. Steelers Beat Reporter, is downplaying the severity of Ben's shoulder injury. Ben likes to let everyone know that's he's playing hurt so people will fawn over him all the more, but he's not leaving the starting lineup anytime soon.

I am not as much concerned with him missing time as I am with 180 yards and 1 TD every week and Pitt running the ball alot more than last year.

I think Ben will be fine in the long haul. Parker having success should only help him throughout the year as team will have to respect the run and will creep up, allowing Ben to go over the top to Miller and the WRs. I'd hang onto Ben at least one more week before hitting the panic button and getting Eli. I don't trust LenDale as a RB2 at this point given how Johnson has looked thus far.
