Give McGahee and Bulger for P. Manning and Hightower?

Recommended Posts

I have the opportunity to give up Bulger and McGahee for Peyton Manning and Hightower.

My starters:

Cutler

S. Jackson and W. Parker

T. Holt and G. Jennings

V. Davis

Carney

NY Giants

Bench:

Bulger

McGahee and A. Bradshaw

S. Moss and Randle El

Crumpler

Green Bay

I really like having McGahee in case Jackson or Parker goes down (or if Jackson keeps sucking). Obviously there's a better chance of one of those two going down than Cutler going down.

On the other hand, what I really need is a top 5 WR and a TE. I wonder if Manning is a better bargaining chip than McGahee.

He also has Shockey, and I feel like I may be able to add V. Davis for Shockey to the deal. Has Colston as well, and I considered adding one of my WR to the deal for Colston but I'm not sure who I'd want to give for him.

Thoughts? WHIR.

Never saw what Manning, but either one is a better bet the Bulger and the Rams. I would take the trade, I don't see McGahee having a big year, even when, and if he is 100%. Hightower isn't a big name, but I think he will do fine. I would pull the trigger, but Cutler...he ain't going know where.

Manning is not a big upgrade over Cutler, and I think Cutler outscores Manning this year. Big downgrade at RB for you - even if McGahee is dinged. Pick up John Carlson at TE and dump Crumpler.

idiot?? naw! Thanx for the reply btw!

I wouldn't do it. I expect Cutler to have a better year this year than Manning, judging by the first couple of weeks. The Bronco's offense looks to be unstopable!

Not to mention the downgrade to Hightower.

Thanx, take care!

Agree about Cutler outscoring Manning. Carlson is not available...best available TE is Royal.

I guess only a couple of us realize your not going to play Manning, just use him to trade for a WR. I'd do it, he should be able to help land you a nice WR either alone or in a package deal.

Roll with Cutler. He will have a better season than Peyton. Hold on to McGahee..he had an extra week off and has Cleveland this week. I think you should start him. Rice is not much of a factor here....and Cleve can't stop anybody.

Exactly.

The other thing I should mention is that this is a 14 team league, and the waiver wire is pretty much worthless. Every team has 2 QBs and most have 4 RB, so neither position has anyone remotely worthwhile available to be picked up.

I guess it boils down to, is Peyton more easily tradeable for a quality RB, or McGahee for a quality QB? I'd be more likely to have to trade Peyton, since it's more likely to have a RB go down, and there are 2 RBs I have to worry about vs. 1 QB. On the other hand, Peyton is a known consistent performer while McGahee could be great or could be ineffective/injured.

Thanks, ended up giving Bulger, McGahee and V. Davis for P. Manning, Hightower and Shockey.
