I’m not selling low on Metcalf or Lockett. I think Geno is gonna throw it a lot bc he has to bc that defense is focking trash. You saw last night he is mobile and has an arm. He will likely throw some picks and miss some throws but generally I still think both Lockett and Metcalf continue to produce at a good enough level until Wilson returns. Given Montgomery’s injury is probably season-ending as well as Williams’s 3-down skill set this seems like the best FA opportunity of the season so far. Who knows if another stud RB will go down who has a potential stud behind them (Dillon, Jones, etc), so strike while the iron is hot or continue to be patient and wait for an even better opportunity later in the season? I’m don’t think I want to offer %50+ of my budget but I suspect that’s what it will take to secure him… thoughts?

Lamb will be fine. McCarthy at heart wants to sling the ball around the yard and they mostly will at some point. The bigger issue is that instead of getting the small route-tree and WR volume as say Metcalf/Lockett and Jefferson/Thielen, Dak is looking at both TEs, both RBs, Wilson, Gallup when healthy, etc. Lamb was certainly over-drafted given all of these factors, but he’s still a WR1 imo
