    Drafting at 12

So, for the second year in a row in a redraft league, I have drawn the 12th (last) pick. Last year was unacceptable (just out of the money), a few mid round selections that didn't pan out (Im looking at you 85 and Holt). I did like the strategy I had though, and after going through a few mock drafts, I am thinking that this year I will go with the same. To put this in perspective - 12 man league non-PPR, 1 QB, 1 TE, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF I have been mocking and WR, WR hasnt worked out - usually most starting backs are out at the 3.11/4.1 turn and you are left taking at least one RB way ahead of ADP in order to ensure that you get someone serviceable to fill out your roster, and you seem to always be playing catch up on other positions once runs begin. RB/RB has worked out decently, but you never know - I seem to come away with at least one back I have questions about (deangelo, etc.), who I would feel just as comfortable with taking another back in the mid 3rd (thomas/lynch/grant). You dont have an elite WR - and you are forced to pick WR/WR at the turn after the initial run has begun. RB/WR has worked the best - It allows you to be flexible. Being a WR heavy league and almost every year a RB run starts the draft, I can usually come away with Slaton/Hopefully on draft day LT/Aj/Moss and then pick two more WR at the turn, Marshall, Welker, TJ, sometimes Boldin, sometimes Colston. The next round I take RB/TE and can come away with Ward/Gates most of the time. After that is best available focus on QB and RBs and take fliers on WR at the end. Who else has drafted 12th? Who are some good mid round targets? Have the other strategies worked - something Im not seeing?

Need A Win And Stuck On Qb?

Rodgers until Palmer proves otherwise. He can at least complete a pass

Need A Ww Wr For This Week

I would go Hilliard or Reed. Galloway and Roscoe Parrish are out this week, and Reed plays the RAMS, who are horrible, they also just cut their #1 cover corner Fahkir Brown...(Thats it 0-3 and getting beat the f down, lets cut one of our only corners who can actually cover anyone, cut him). Actually now that I think about it, josh reed, he will be good for 7 and 90 yards...maybe a TD... Then they will get up by a lot and pound lynch.

    Steven Jackson Trade - Whir

do it, maybe?...look who turner has burned in the 3 weeks...lions and KC, absolutely nothing against TBweak...not going to get easier...Jackson and MJD could blow up at any point, but if you had any RB depth with quality starters, I wouldnt do it.

    Mcgahee For S.holmes

Honestly, I wouldnt do it. You are much better at RB than WR, you need Santonio....I mean for gods sake, you have Vincent Jackson as a starter!

Should I Make This Trade? Giving Up Lt

I would do it. Addai has a favorable playoff schedule, if you are on pace to get there....LT isnt the same LT as the last couple years, he is a #1 back, but not any better than someone who was drafted 1-7 (less Stephen Jackson)...I dont think its as big of a drop off between addai and LT as it was in the past. I would like having the option of picking between lewis and jones based on matchups, rather than jones, sproles (backup), and jones (major backup). The trade between holt and 85 is negligible. I unfortunately have both along with TO thinking I had a dominant WR core. I am a Rams lover, and watched every game, and there is no way that Holt outperforms 85 when Bulger or a concussed Trent Green get slammed to the ground while having less than a second to throw before he gets sacked...It also doesnt help that there isnt another receiver on the team who is worth anything. Thus, Holt will be double covered constantly, while 85 at least has Housh. Your RB depth is suspect, injuries happen. Do it. Signed, the trade proposer. Just kidding

What is a suitable deal to offer for Addai?

I tried to trade for Addai yesterday....Background, guy has lowest total points in the league, terrible WR (gage, matt jones, lav coles)...I tried Kevin Smith & Chad Johnson so he could at least have 2 producing players...didnt work. I thought it was reasonable.
  8. 12 team league, non-ppr, standard scoring - QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, K, DEF QB: Farve, Cutler RB: M. Lynch, K. Smith, DeAngelo Williams, R. Rice WR: TO, T. Holt, Ocho Cinco, DeShawn Jackson TE: Gates K: Vinateri DEF: Ten - ARI WW pickup for this week - bring it Martz I think I need to shore up the RB position. The owner who has Willis McGahee I proposed 2 trades to: K. Smith & R. Rice for C. Perry & Earnest Graham or Michael Turner - he declined. The other was R. Rice & T. Holt or Ocho Cinco for B. Edwards and C. Perry - hes thinking about it. I obviously hope he takes it, as the only thing Rice is doing for me right now is taking up a scarce bench position. Overall, I think I did great for the 11th pick....I would love to get someone as my RB2 instead of K. Smith who I drafted before I picked up Rudi. Any thoughts would be appreciated, Im bored at work, will answer...leave a link.
