Parents are better than you give them credit for. At least they are where I teach. I do wish when I call home and say that their kid is focking around with the phone in class, that I don't see the same kid with a phone again the next day.

Please put me under surveillance. I don't care if my boss or kids parents' see what I do. I care about the bullying and misbehaving going on over there when I'm over here helping these kids or figuring out how this calculator got broken.

Parents aren't the problem. They take the teacher's side. All but one time that I ever called home to tell a parent what's going on, I've had their support.

I would welcome a camera in my classroom and have asked for one because of how useful it would be when handling discipline issues.

I do enthusiastically support the back end, every kid in my school should transfer out of it to a worthwhile one. My youngest is entering grade six and she isn't going to attend my school. Can you clarify what you are saying here, please. At first it looks like poor people shouldn't have kids. Most parents, even poor ones want what's best for their kids. Parents that don't raise kids the right way likely don't know how and likely don't have their own life in order to begin with. I see a lot of this since I am assigned the low-end, remedial level 8th graders in my school which come with an assortment of cognitive and social problems.
