Timmyβs thread for general discussion
Voltaire replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
Imprisoned all political opponents? All? There are ZERO political prisoners in Hungary. Z-E-R-O I can prove it to you. It just so happens that Joe Biden's State Department, no friend of Victor Orban, acknowledged in 2022 , after 10+ year of Orban's governance that there were no political prisoners in Hungary. I have a link from state.gov to attest to that : https://www.state.gov/reports/2022-country-reports-on-human-rights-practices/hungary Go ahead and click there, it'll be hard to find since the link goes on forever, but to help you out, I took the time to do for you. Go ahead and scroll down to E, not terribly far from the top. This is what it says If you have nowhere else to start, there were six opponents that ran against him in the last election and since that State Department report was published, I don't rightly know what they've been up to. Maybe you'll have some luck. It just so happens that a lot of BS gets spread around about Orban because the EU bureaucrats and our corporate globalist overlords (not to be confused with "Jews" although George Soros is the most prominent. We've had this conversation before. Anyone of any race or nationality who takes a private jet to Davos, gets in a chauffeured limousine to attend a lunch meeting, then is back on the jet and off to a Brussels for a night conference) hate him because they can't control him. Victor Orban does have a supermajority of parliament and has had 12 years to reshape judiciary so checks and balances are lacking after so much electoral success. His grip on the country is pretty strong and to keep it intact, the worst, most ethically dubious thing he does, is gerrymander elections. Any political opponent is going to have to break through that wall, so fair enough, he's stacked the deck. What you won't find is any journalist or political opponent in prison. He does keeps foreign money from influencing elections and media there but I don't think that counts. Anyway, if you want to find an alleged democracy that puts political opponents on trial on false pretenses, prosecutes journalists for not divulging their sources, and rigs elections, I would direct you closer to home and to Biden's Amerika. -
^^^^ Saw this slide coming a mile away. Four could be 1/4 of the alphabet. It's why I took the safe route with my second pick.

Trump beating Biden by 5 points in latest NY Times Poll
Voltaire replied to Patented Phil's topic in The Geek Club
There'll be no convention surprise. Biden is going to be the nominee. He's convinced he's doing a good job and the people that run the country need him there in order to continue to run the country, so they him keep him in a bubble and hope things turn around and/or Trump allows himself to implode. And I'm grateful. Let's Go Brandon! -

They're going to need lots more suitcases and more than three days' worth of broken water pipes across five or six states this time. -
Wordle 988 3/6 π©π©π© π©π©π© π©π©π©π©π© Was temped to go for 2 but the hunt for the two letters could have driven me right off the page. Also, it was the right choice, the word I would have guessed for two was wrong and I'd still have like four more guesses at that 4th letter.

San Francisco considers reparations proposal to give $5 million per Black person
Voltaire replied to Patented Phil's topic in The Geek Club
Some liberal will need to explain to the nice lady in black with the sunglasses up on her forehead why she shouldn't get any money. I'll be over here with my rooting for her to get paid. San Francisco and California are historically such racist places, after all. -

Nobody's head is exploding. We find it entertaining to watch the corporate insider liberals explaining to the freak show left that 'Yes, America sucks. A truly despicable society. It's evil, always has been evil, remains evil, and you've been exploited all your life. We, your enlightened liberal overlords of San Francisco know this to be true. We hate America too. As government officials in this sh*tty racist exploitative country, we owe you an apology. We're sorry. Truly deeply sorry. Also, although we freely admit that you do each deserve $5 million each for how awful the country is, sadly we aren't giving you any money. Also all the male and nonbinary members of this panel are happy to offer free blow jobs as reparations instead. Line up over there please." -
Suzanne was a ditz on TV but she's the only one that successfully raised a productive kid. Farrah Fawcett seems the most right in the head, but her kid is a junkie. Stevie has those drug abuse issues and never had children. I dunno, I'm just not hot for Suzanne like I am the other two. Marry Farrah anyway Fock Stevie Kill Suzanne

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2024/02/28/san-francisco-reparations-apology-black-residents/72775247007/?tbref=hp On Tuesday, the 11-member San Francisco Board of Supervisors unanimously passed a resolution apologizing βto all African Americans and their descendants who came to San Francisco and were victims of systemic and structural discrimination, institutional racism, targeted acts of violence, and atrocities.β San Francisco has been and remains an egregiously horribly, racist place. Hopefully the Board of Supervisors finds the wisdom in paying each black person $5 million lump sum plus $100,000 per year for the rest of their lives. I hope they also pay any illegal immigrants that showed up another $5 million lump sum and $100,000 for the rest of their lives too. -
Wordle 985 4/6 π¨ π¨π¨ π¨π¨π© π©π©π©π©π© My brain didn't like processing this one. I had three letters that, at first, I'd thought would generate plenty of options. Too many options. That wasn't the case. I soon realized I didn't know how to put them together to even form a single guess. Nothing was coming to me, which normally signals I'm close and is the sense I get just before I solve it. But it was juxtaposed with this feeling that I wasn't close at all. Finall, when I did find a word that fit ... it was wrong. And the green and two off limits yellows were useless so I just kept staring into the void again. Then I found a second word... but it didn't fit because of three so I tossed it. Then I found a third word... finally.

San Francisco should put these in every alley and under every bridge. I mean, since so many residents there prefer to poop outside anyway, at least this way they'd have a more sanitary option. -

Russia isn't going to storm across Europe because watch, like magic, how the ding dong slackers are going to start actually paying their 2% pledge. Since asking "please" doesn't seem to work, maybe insisting they get off their ass does. It's the same 'get off your ass and work" tough love prescription applied to free-riding welfare mooches in the US except done at a larger scale. -

To clarify Tim, as I recall, you quite vociferously took both of these positions. A lot of us find them both beyond absurd. Then, when placed side-by-side, it really highlights the stark/deep divergence of opinions we have with liberals. -

This is why Captain Poopypants' puppetmasters and the other bad guys in their party voted no: Cliff's Notes: The usual gripes. Cuts too much spending in other programs (nutrition services, law enforcement, consumer safety, education, and healthcare) , doesn't protect clean energy, and doesn't enshrine trannies to their rightful place as gods on earth. ------ STATEMENT OF ADMINISTRATION POLICY H.R. 4366 β Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2024 (Rep. Granger, R-TX) The Administration strongly opposes House passage of H.R. 4366, making appropriations for military construction, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and related agencies for the fiscal year (FY) ending September 30, 2024 and for other purposes. In May, the Administration negotiated in good faith with the Speaker on bipartisan legislation to avoid a first-ever default and protect the Nationβs hard-earned and historic economic recovery. This negotiation resulted in the Fiscal Responsibility Act (FRA) of 2023, which passed with overwhelming bipartisan support and set spending levels for FYs 2024 and 2025. The agreement held spending for non-defense programs roughly flat with FY 2023 levels, a compromise that protected vital programs Americans rely on from draconian cuts House Republicans proposed. The agreement also protected historic legislative accomplishments from the past two years, including the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), Honoring our PACT Act of 2022, CHIPS and Science Act, and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (Bipartisan Infrastructure Law). House Republicans had an opportunity to engage in a productive, bipartisan appropriations process, but instead, with just over two months before the end of the fiscal year, are wasting time with partisan bills that cut domestic spending to levels well below the FRA agreement and endanger critical services for the American people. These levels would result in deep cuts to climate change and clean energy programs, essential nutrition services, law enforcement, consumer safety, education, and healthcare. These bills include billions in additional rescissions from the IRA and other vital legislation that would result in unacceptable harm to clean energy and to energy efficiency initiatives that lower energy costs and critical investments in rural America. The draft bills also include numerous new, partisan policy provisions with devastating consequences including harming access to reproductive healthcare, threatening the health and safety of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex (LGBTQI+) Americans, endangering marriage equality, hindering critical climate change initiatives, and preventing the Administration from promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Administration stands ready to engage with both chambers of the Congress in a bipartisan appropriations process to enact responsible spending bills that fully fund Federal agencies in a timely manner. If the President were presented with H.R. 4366, he would veto it. https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/SAP-H.R.-4366.pdf

Gutterboy allegedly isn't in favor of pedophilia. He does see nothing wrong with taking kids to the pedophile's lair and telling the rescuers to go fock themselves. "lair" = gay night club where twerking drag queens dancing to stripper music in front of a sign that reads "It's Not Going To Lick Itself", where they get tipped by five year olds. That thread is deleted but he went on for pages and pages attacking anyone who disagreed with him. We were discussing this. If I misrepresented his position, he's free to clairify.
