***OFFICIAL NFC Championship Lions @ 49ers Thread***
Voltaire replied to supermike80's topic in The Geek Club
Goff isn't the problem. The problem is cornerback or lack thereof. Also non-Hutchinson pass rush. James Houston is finally in his first game back and may be rusty and or still less than 100% but if he's able to play at a high level, that'd help immensely. Also Jonah Jackson missing (and Vaitai long gone) opens a hole on the O-Line. -

He's had a great year but two really bad plays in short succession may cost his team the season. -

Yooge penalty and a fumble really hurt Baltimore there. Could be fatal. -

Ten points, the ball to start the half, and Lamar looking befuddled. Things are looking good for you, CMH. -
Yes. This.

All right KC. -
If the Lions can get to the Super Bowl, I don't want anything to do with this Baltimore team. I've not forgotten how they curbstomped the Lions badly earlier in the season and it was ugly. (They did the same to SF, but I couldn't give a rip about SF's problems.) The Ravens are the best team in the league and they look like a team of destiny. When your team is the deepest underdog left, you look for the path of least resistance. The Chiefs, like the Ravens and 49ers would be favored over the Lions but they're more beatable.

Hard to figure out what your 5th guess was.

Wordle 953 4/6 🟨 🟩 🟨🟨 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Good Wordle word. Hard to smoke out any letters for it though. Easy to solve though since those four letters don't combine together very easily.

Maybe Fields dsappears when he plays the Packers and they beat the holy hell out of the Bears. I can't say I tune in too closely. I'm telling you, Fields give the Lions a run for their money.

Alright, kindly drop the 'boyos' and the accusations of racism and maybe a reasonable discourse can be had. This notion that math is racist or that minority kids shouldn't be expected to meet "higher standards" (higher standards = basic math competency that pretty much even the dumbest rockheads we went to High School with in the 1980s were able to achieve) is gaining traction. The way forward is to lower the standards so us math teachers aren't held accountable for turning out adults who can't figure out their mortgage or internet bill or how many shingles they need to buy to repair a roof, or read a floorplan, let alone design an airplane. Here's what that looks like. https://www.campusreform.org/article/prof-algebra-geometry-perpetuate-white-privilege/10005

Many seemingly absurd/stupid ideas percolate on the left before going mainstream. Hopefully the 'math is racist' one fizzles out but it's over there now. I teach math and don't want my minority students or anyone else buying into it.
-
Racists didn't make the term 'racist' normalized. The left did that because they drop it constantly in the wrong context like you just did here, and then threw in an "alt right" to go with it for good measure, as well as a few of your coined term 'boyo.' Your own thread is a perfect exhibit A for why when somebody on the left call somebody a racist, it doesn't mean anything.
-
CRT? Critical Race theory? What? For the record, the notion that math is racist HAS found a foothold in the left, which is where many other absurd/stupid idea germinates before it goes mainstream.

Oh, for years and years on end, guys like Bill Schroeder would always land on my fantasy roster. Each season, Favre had Antonio Freeman and some mystery flavor of the year opposite him. Guys shuffled in and out, nobody knew who would #2. I didn't either but I'd take candidate A in the 11th round, Candidate B in the 12th. Favre + scrub = solid WR3 plus his injury replacement all season long. I did the same thing with Peyton Manning and the scrub of the year opposite Marvin Harrison in the years before Reggie Wayne showed up.

I would stick with Fields and get him help. That's not division rival trying to keep Chicago down talk. That's legitimately and sincerely what I think is best. I know the numbers aren't pretty but just seeing him out there, he looks the part. Fields beat the Lions once this year, he could have won both, and I was impressed with him when I saw him play. Chicago is already close to turning it around before these picks. The Lions are in the Conference Championship game. Green Bay is already there and also getting Rodgers off the books. When Cousins is healthy, Minnesota can beat anyone (see Vikings/49ers). This division is going to be brutal in 2024 and the NFC West and AFC South are both going to feel it.

China sends several warplanes, navy ships toward Taiwan after U.S.-China talks

Rome came and went and the sun came up the next day and the world kept turning. Same thing happened the day after Constantinople fell. While much of today's world has been abducted by the global corporate-governmental alliance at Davos, they aren't very good at rigging everything and there are enough cracks and opportunities for ordinary people to fight back. -
https://www43.myfantasyleague.com/2023/standings?L=42240 You're not doing too good. I have a decent shot to win if Gibbs can outperform Lions D by 7 points.

Seems to me if they're ever going to invade, now is the optimal time. Ditto for Ethiopia on Eritrea or Venezuela on Guyana or Latin Americans on the US border. -
Add retirement to the list. retirement, math, being on time, hard work, equality, colorblindness...

Yes. The 70s were a blur. Bobbie Gentry is taking that secret to the grave isn't she? I wonder that she ever had anything specific in mind in the first place. Maybe she merely wanted for her listeners to speculate and see what they came up with.
