  1. The border was mostly secure under Trump. It was not entirely secure because Trump had his hands tied multiple times by Democrats and never-Trump Republicans. Then Trump is out, Biden comes in, reverses all the policies, and the border becomes totally unsecure.... ... and so Team Biden calls a meeting where all the Democrats and never-Trump get together, talk, don't do anything, and the only thing that comes out of it is they collectively blame Trump for the border being a mess and try to sell it... .. somehow it does sell. But only to people who are predisposed to hate Trump anyways and also lack critical thinking skills. Everybody else sees right through the transparent hypocritical bullsh*t.

Have any of you donated to your schools NIL?

Oh No! You bought some football tickets, then you bought $25 worth of chocolate during a fundraiser to help that bucktoothed kid down the street afford accessories on his band uniform, and now your name is on a list.
  3. in exchange, we want the words "woman," "justice," and "moderate" back as well as rainbows. Kids should be able to draw and enjoy rainbows without causing a nearby pervert to drool and touch himself. While we're at it "education" and "border security" doesn't mean what you guys think it means. And finally, replacing "sex change operation" with "gender affirming care" is right out too. You're not fooling anybody, we saw what you did there.
  4. I wonder what that means. What rises to the level of the border becoming overwhelmed? It seems to me that had the Biden administration been around the day the Vandals sacked Rome, the Muslims took Constantinople, or when the Mongols sacked Baghdad, they may have conducted a long and inconclusive meeting as their city burned to consider the possibility that the border was overwhelmed, then decide to put off the decision for a week.
  5. It looks to me, and this is 100% speculation, that the Biden regime is willing to change policy on the border, either because they had a change of heart, or big city mayors have pressed them to recognize that unfettered illegal immigration is a failure, or because it polls terribly. I mean, the border policy is a big enough mess that even Tim, the NYTimes, and other left wing sources note a change in policy would help him win re-election. Then you factor in that House Republicans are so fed up with the open border policy that they want to tie border funding to Ukraine war funding. Factoring in on the other end are members of the regime's party that do not want a change in policy but to continue allowing unfettered illegal immigration and blocking Texas from doing anything. If Team Biden actually wanted to do something different about the border, they're free to do it. Since they don't have the balls to anger their open border advocates, they called in their never-Trump Republican allies to take some heat off for them with a bipartisan deal. Again, my speculation.

This is for bigwig mega-donors. We give money for neighbor kids selling girl scout cookies or raising money for band equipment.

Do you think the Geek Club is racist?

Some members do say racist things. Other members draw inconvenient and politically incorrect conclusions from reading data about crime rates, marriage rates, and their own anecdotal experience then convey it in insensitive ways that The New York Times would not approve of. A problem occurs when people take overall generalities and apply it in individual circumstances.

  9. Let this post stand as a testament that dating back to the torridjoe era, you've read and learned nothing from the tens of thousands of bored righties posts and their consistent position on immigration.
  10. Yes, when people write "most likely" it affirms/denotes speculation. I have gone to great lengths in seemingly every post to point out that the discussions are continuing to be done in private, we don't know what the bill contains and we don't know how President Trump learned of the contents. I'd said z"more likely the President caught wind of what was going on" but thinking further on it, he doesn't have to. President Trump has already negotiated border policy with Democrats; he is already aware of what they want to allow/not do. Further, he doesn't have to speculate. Between that negotiating experience with what we can all observe by watching the Biden regime's border czar Harris and Secretary Mayorkas in action, or rather : inaction. Really, the only time they have bothered to lift a finger to do anything on the border is when they reign in Texas for being frustrated and having the temerity to try to impede the flow. I would point out that the same laws that were already on the books and were in place during the Trump era exist today. The difference is that President Trump tried to maximize efforts rather than Biden's attempt to minimize them. Biden, Mayorkis, and Border Czar Harris do not need Congressional anything to carry out their policy in the first place. If they want to pivot on policy they are free to do so at any time. What never-Trump Republicans offer them is the ability to take the heat from their outraged left flank in a veneer of bi-partisanship. In your hypothesis, President Trump's opposition to the bill is that he wants the border to remain open and does not want the issue resolved before the election. In mine, the Biden administration realized their policy is a failure and want to change it but don't want to offend their open border allies, so they called in their never Trump frenemies to provide them cover. James Lankford's continued participation in the discussion provides some hope they can come up with a decent bill. IMO President Trump's involvement can only strengthen Lankford's hand.
  11. That seems transparently ridiculous spin. More likely they were tipped that it doesn't accomplish much/enough and are backing out in hopes of securing more concessions. The only leverage they have to get Biden to agree to lift a finger or to leave Texas alone is withholding funding of his priorities.
  12. More accurately, it could potentially force him to do some things he doesn't want to do.
  13. True. You'll also note it's been hard for anyone to explain why they're for it as well. And the reason for both of those conditions to be simultaneously true has been restated over and over again, many many times in this thread....
  14. This is great. I agree with him. Please stay in San Francisco and I'll continue to avoid it.

    Boss Hogg

I saw what I thought was a replica of the General Lee at the Gratiot Cruise in metro Detroit in the 90s. The trunk was open and on display were pics of the owner with Tom Wopat, Denver Pyle, James Best etc. It turned out it wasn't a replica, it was the real deal. Seriously. but there's a story there. The owner told us the production crew went through ~3 cars per episode so there is no General Lee, instead there are *dozens of General Lees, which means there is a decent chance that you what you saw was one of them.
  16. Well tell us the facts about the border deal then, because I don't know them. Maybe I'll agree with you. Just providing a link will do.
  17. That's horrible. People wanting the Jefferson Memorial to be torn down can fock right off, but I don't want any part of this sentiment equating black people to mules.
  18. You don’t know what’s behind door #2 but you aren’t alone. Neither does the media or most of the Senate. You just embrace it anyway. I don’t rightly know your position on border security as you seldom post on it, but you’re siding with Biden over Texas tips your hand that you don’t take it seriously as does your embracing the lie about President Trump's position.
  19. They don’t want to shut the forum down, they have been through that once already. The reason they come here is because they like posting about this stuff. The easiest way to disengage is the way others have… to just leave.
  20. The original point is an easily disproven lie and repeating it 20 times doesn’t make it true. Trump says that he would support a deal that sufficiently closes the border. I gave you that quote. He opposes the deal because he fees it is a bad deal. Presumably he’s been tipped off as to the contents. As for the rest of us, we don’t know what is in the bill. if it is a good bill, he can pound sand and we should support it. As I implored you last time, maybe we should all wait for the content to be revealed and make up our own minds. Few of the people involved in the negotiations have ever taken border security seriously. But ‘few’ isn’t ‘none.’ I again suggest you wait and also to stop lying. Everyone knows you’re full of sh’t and shamelessly and deliberately lying about President Trump’s reasoning.

    Nikki Haley in 2024!

To compete the thought, he's probably not keen on the media lying to him all the time, or some liberal college professor rolling up and telling his coworkers that some of them are more priviledged than others based on their skin color. Or hearing that his country sucks. He doesn't appreciate that the guy that broke into his car and his neighbors car was released and broke into another neighbor's car. Nor that he goes five miles out of his way for food because the local grocery store closed for the same reasons. Having government activists kidnap his son and cut off his balls may not be a winner either.

    Nikki Haley in 2024!

He ended and renegotiated a bunch of trade agreements by putting American workers priorities first rather than those of the corporate leaders who export their jobs overseas and in turn saw a reversal in the decline of manufacturing jobs. The minimum wage for auto workers in Mexico went up to $15/hour which helps both them and the US workers tired of having their jobs exported. He prioritized making the US energy independent which both kept gas prices down and provided a plethora of high paying energy sector jobs for the working class. Then, by cutting down on illegal immigration, he provided upward pressure on blue collar wages. How about you let the working class figure out for themselves what's best for them since you do such a sh*tty job of explaining away what they see with their own two eyes in their wallets and in their pay stubs? Could it possibly be that people getting by working hard on low wages are tired of seeing their tax dollars go to their neighbor who sits on his ass all day have better stuff in his house than he does or the illegal immigrants getting for free stuff they buy for their family?

Those first two lines, I felt pretty much the same way. Although you had it worse; at least I had two vowels. Third guess gave me a green consonant which was ... something.
