    Haiti, anyone paying attention? Crazy

Interviewer: What did you think of Amy Schumer last night? Barbeque: Wonderful! Much better that I expected! We were warned she might taste funny but no, I really enjoyed her. She's an acquired taste.
  2. Last year, a documentary came out on Barry Sanders. Teammates and coaches and prominent Lions fans like Eminem and Jeff Daniels weighed in on it, lamenting that the Lions never had a QB who could take them to the top. Scott Mitchell felt dumped on and disrespected and went to the media with a lengthy piece in theatlantic right now to try to clear his name. https://archive.is/iqL0d Don't believe a word of it. Scott Mitchell was steaming hot garbage and everything everyone said about him was true. We'll never know what the 90s Lions with Barry Sanders could have accomplished if they had adequate play as quarterback. It was maddening watching how many winning games turned to losses because Mitchell melted away in the pressure of the 4th quarter. There's no prominent player that ever wore a Lions/Red Wings/Tigers/ Pistons uniform that I cannot stand more than Scott Mitchell. Tim Chevaldae comes closest.

Scott Mitchell is Tired of Being a Scapegoat

He was one of the lesser bad QBs the Lions had pre-Stafford. I didn't dislike him.
  4. Biden got through that speech intact. He spent over an hour telling us his priorities, tried to sell us on his accomplishments, and didn't look in over his head while doing so. He has had plenty of clueless moments but the SOTU wasn't one. The tread is thin on the tires, but they've not fallen off. IMO, his one major gaffe I noticed was telling us that people can buy cheaper prescription drugs in Moscow.

    TikTok Ban / Sale

Weepaws sees both as equally bad as the other and has consistently been saying this all along. He hasn't explained why he feels that way in any more depth than the post a few up from this one, but I suspect it's President Trump's character issues that have turned off weepaws.

  15. I realize that Hungary has remained a nice country despite the rest of Europe is going to sh*t. So what are the lesson to be learned? Look out for your own people first. Don't get corrupted or bullied by the multinational corporate elite. Keep perverts away from children. Don't allow Illegal immigration into your country. Put criminals in jail. Subsidize young families. Marriage is only between men and women

    NFL Free Agency/ Draft 2024

The Lions could use maybe one big splash free agent at DE or CB. Otherwise keep doing what they're doing. With three successful drafts in a row, at some point all the underpaid young talent on these rookie contracts are going to need to be resigned.

    NFL Free Agency/ Draft 2024

Not Safety. We have great safeties and not enough snaps for them. Even if they let the fine talent that is CJGJ walk, they still have Branch at Nickle, Iffy at Strong Safety and Kirby Joseph at Free Safety. Corners are a problem. They re-signed Moseley but I don't trust his knees. Hopefully he lasts more than two snaps this time. Could also use O-Line depth. Maybe Vaitai can return at a discount. he plays well in the 2-3 games/year he plays. Better as a reserve.

The number of senior moments were minor. Going to Moscow for lower prescription drug prices was the only juicy one. I'm no fan but he looked in charge of his faculties instead of lost. People underestimate him. He easily exceeded expectations.

You're having a hard time convincing people from our culture, let alone others, that adult men getting their jollies off by dressing like women and doing sex dances in front of children is a universal human right. Its gut-wrenching and tragic to see that you've had so much success in getting it mainstreamed into ours. This is toxic and perverse. Nobody with any sense of decency wants anything to do with it.

    Timmy’s thread for general discussion

In today's world, there remains no system of government which is better than the West in general or the US in particular. The ability to elect public officials and hold them accountable, else toss them out is sacrosanct and irreplaceable. For how badly the multinational corporations and globalist politicians who serve their own interests rather than their local population have hijacked the country, theirs is a system that relies on a solid legal system, and these laws are incredibly popular and difficult to change. But we have swayed from out founding roots and cultural norms and traditions. We are backsliding on all fronts of liberty, justice, personal responsibility, and education. In many ways, the country's institutions are hollowed out and corrupted. In other ways, there's still a fine foundation. Ideally we'd have a country with the moral authority to lecture China on their inhumane treatment of Uyghurs. What we have instead is a county that celebrates drag queens twerking their asses in front of five-year-olds to stripper music. The World Economic Forum including the corporations and governments that participate remains the overarching bad guys in the world. They only care about themselves and clearly don't care one iota about the people morals, values, or cultural heritages of countries they come. And they are primarily a product of the West and the ruling class elites of the third world. To the extent that countries outside sway of the multinationals: Russia, China, much of the Middle East, India, and SE Asia good for them but they all have the same problems of self serving government establishments, in their case with no mechanism to remove officials from office. They also lack any historical or cultural connections to the values of liberty and freedom and citizen responsibilities that the west enjoys.

    Timmy’s thread for general discussion

Tim, I remember an exchange with you in which I'd said something like "I would die on the beach of Normandy for the country I grew up in but I wouldn't get out of bed to take a p*ss for Joe Biden's Amerika." You'd replied that it was the same country. I'd not responded at the time, but my thinking along the lines of "No, it's not. We have two sides that hate each other. People on the left have constantly slandered, belittled and undermined it while demonizing anyone who defends it and I want zero to do with the left." That's not just rhetoric on my part. Since my job (teacher) can be done anywhere, I deliberately chose to move my family to one of the reddest parts of the country - a place I have no ties to- so my children who'd until then grown up overseas, can learn to be American in a place that still has strong American values. While I may agree with this plank or that one in the Democratic Party platform in opposition the the GOPs, like Obamacare, but culturally, the left is dead to me. Dead. Flatline. Dead. Anyway, in the fake Timmy thread, somebody posted a gem that I'd like for you to give your opinion on. It's RFK Jr's State of the Union response. Here it is.
  25. Excellent SOTU response by RFK Jr. RFK Jr is a bit older than me but I long for the America of my youth, as well. If more (any? Buehler?) Democrats sounded like RFK Jr or Tulsi Gabbard, I could see voting for them. I want as re-united country rather this epic battle of good vs evil that we have now. Of course he's smeared constantly in corporate left circles for spreading this message of hope and unity, even though he agrees with Dems on a number of policy positions.
