IIRC, our post counts all went down after the form upgrade five years ago or so. Anything posted before the latinpimp hijacking was already lost but the post count had been remained until then. -

So the US embassy in China's official website on Weibo, which is like Chinese Twitter, has whatever videos the US government provides for consumption of the Chinese public. And it's usually filled with condemnation comments in Chinese from brainwashed government loving hacks. The US government leaves the comments up, as do Weibo and the Chinese government. Well a strange thing happened recently. The Chinese people figured out that they could start posting anti-Chinese government screeds on the US embassy's website. And so they just flooded and flooded the website with comments. It started on a feel good video about what the US government is doing to protect endangered giraffes.https://share.america.gov/how-tech-helps-scientists-protect-giraffes/ "Save us instead of the giraffes." "Send warships, I'll tell you where to go." "China is bullsh*t." Weibo could not delete them fast enough. Finally they just shut down comments on all the US government website. Now they've taken to posting on India's embassy Weibo website. Reuters has a story covering the phenominon. https://www.reuters.com/markets/chinese-turn-us-embassy-post-into-wailing-wall-stock-plunge-2024-02-04/

Meteorological maelstrom kicking California's ass

Hopefully the homes where all of our California Geeks live stays dry, safe and undamaged. For the state, hopefully the damage comes in under estimated projections for people, buildings and nature. I bust on California but I don't wish it or anyone there any harm. -

I like this thread. I'm going to turn it into a massive number of H2H poll and we can find the most popular song with a woman's name in the title. Just keep posting names. Include as many as you want. When the thread falls to page two, I'll get to work alphabetizing everything and get to work. -
I mean there's hope in the polls. Being ahead in the popular vote would be nice. Mostly, President Trump needs to win the electoral college in a bunch of states Biden "won" and where Dems will have trouble rigging the votes again with all their COVID related shenanigans they used to change election laws. Enthusiasm to vote for Biden should be non-existent but who knows what goes on with suitcases behind closed doors without election observers present.

It works if Christian is a girl's name. -
It seems the strategy is to file a bunch of fake lawsuits against Trump and drag him before Democrat activists in the judiciary, convict him on bullsh*t and pretend he did something wrong. Fortunately, these lawsuits are both easily seen as the Dems' latest transparently partisan abuse of power and is also boring to follow, even for the Dems' own la-la-land voters, so people aren't tuning in and don't seem to care. People still seem more apt to compare and contrast the candidates on the prices of milk and gas, the state of the economy, and basic levels of competence. If he does get returned to office, maybe they can impeach him another half dozen times.

What happens if you attempted to post five in a row, but some rat bastard came in and posted something before you got there? -

Today we should finally learn what the law says and can actually discuss it's merits. Expecting us to just agree to something because Mitch McConnell and Mitt Romney got together with a bunch of Democrats is stupid. But fair enough, that works both ways, rejecting it because President Trump warns us it's bad is also unfair. A reminder of four things adn likely much much more: Remember that Joe Biden has the same laws on the books that Donald Trump had and does absolutely nothing. That Joe Biden blocks Texas from enforcing US immigration policy That just last week, 3/4 of House Democrats came out in support open borders to the extent that even illegal aliens convicted of a DUI must not be deported. That in their 2019 presidential debate, all ten Democrat presidential candidates came out in support of paying for health care to illegal aliens So among all their other dozens of flaws, on immigration, this is exactly who the Democrats are and this is what we are dealing with. -
They aren't allowed to work legally, so they just ... exist. ... and we have such a nice safety net ... and it would be humane to refuse to clothe, house, feed, and educate them. ... and even if they get a DUI, 3/4 of the Democratic Party would refuse to deport them. At their 2019 Presidential debate all ten Democrats raised their hands to the question of if their health care policy would cover illegal immigrants. (I can only fit six on the screen because Mike is evil when it comes to photos and the bypass doesn't work great). And we knew and discussed at the time -in this forearm- what a train wreck the border would be if the Democrats took over the White House. This party is incompetent and utterly incapable of predicting the consequences of their actions.

Wordle 960 4/6 🟨 🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Oh, dear lord, I'd thought I'd seen it all, but I'd never had this happened before. What a shot in the dark! This game never ceases to amaze. What an awesome Wordle word too.
