Confederate Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery to be removed
Voltaire replied to seafoam1's topic in The Geek Club
I don't have a copy of his book and haven't read excerpts in a very, very longtime.. The best I can do at present is link to an eight page critical review of it... https://www.aft.org/sites/default/files/Wineburg.pdf I can probably do the same with an online source but I'd be relearning the objections as I go. -

OMG! What did he get right? It's all second hand sources with little-to-no primary source material. Nor footnotes to even verify any of the bullsh*t stories that appear nowhere else. It's not history is anti-American propaganda that he makes all up... all being told from an America sucks perspective by a Marxist. Same with the 1619 project. -

They don't. That's another of the long list of lies being told to you, that you swallow uncritically. -

LOL at it being us editing the history books. As if we don't remember the history books from our youths. We didn't have a plague of American students supporting Hamas and tearing down George Washington statues before the Howard Zinns and Nikole Hannah Joneses of the world came along with their fake-ass history. We know who the liars are, just like we know who's been editing the history books. -
LOL if the Pats can KO the Chiefs.

'They" aren't tearing down their own statues and "they" sure as hell aren't stopping at tearing down Confederate statues. In California, "they" voted to paint over a George Washington mural, in New York City it's Teddy Roosevelt "they" took down, while in Oregon "they' removed the Pioneer statue. "They" erased Laura Ingalls Wilder's name from a children's author award and "they" are even re-naming bird species. Links to all claims: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2019/07/11/san-francisco-mural-academics-george-washington-history/1689543001/ https://www.cbsnews.com/news/teddy-roosevelt-statue-new-york-natural-history-museum-removal/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pioneer_(Eugene,_Oregon) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Children's_Literature_Legacy_Award https://www.cnn.com/2023/11/02/us/bird-species-names-changing-scn-cec/index.html -
Dying is a stretch. Education is vitally, crucially important but under pressure between lower standards and wokeness and teachers unions and figuring out how to adapt technology and whatnot.

Wordle 911 4/6 π¨π¨π¨ π©π©π© π©π©π©π©π© Was disappointed I'd found no new letters in three, despite turning all the yellows green and was bracing myself for a five.

I can see a context where I would let this one slide. Twelve is an appropriate age for a health class, I would expect kids to know about the digestive system or the respiratory system, and that would include the reproductive system and the parts of it. A lot of kids learn by drawing. Show me the rest of the book. If it's full of activities for sketching the ear, the liver, the heart.... I'm going to accept this assignment as legitimate.

Mostly people that never developed a system of writing. A lot of effort goes has gone into deciphering and preserving lost texts from civilizations around the world, much of the work being conducted by white males. Even human populations and cultures that leave no written records have artifacts such as jewelry or tools or pottery, along with bones, theirs or what they hunted, so efforts to make educated guesses of what their lives were like are able to be made. -
I don't think reeling off 1+3 wins gets them in the playoffs but it can disrupt Cleveland's positioning.

We can replace it with a monument of George Floyd dressed in drag waving a Hamas flag. -
Beat Minnesota and rest starters the last two weeks.
-
Now Dorsey dinged in garbage time.
-
Hopefully JaeMo is OK. Already too banged up, Can't be getting injured in garbage time.
-
Beautiful. This is the game we need to restore confidence. Haven't truely kicked a team's ass since Las Vegas.
-
This is going well, both offense and defense are taking it to the Broncos. This is a good signm as it's how it was early in the season and we've only seen it since in the first quarter of the New Orleans game.
-
Beat Denver, beat Minnesota, rest starters for two weeks... get people back... see what happens.
-
Hopefully a divorce for irreconcilable differences.
-
Good job Cincy on the comeback win. I'd have rooted for you if I'd realized you were playing. Always happy to see Minnesota tagged with an L.
-
Glad things are well for you, cmh.

If tell the running back to stop running because I'm in position to lay hands on him but he ignores me and keeps running anyways, what should I do? -

Looks to me that that he doesn't pass the purity test anymore; they kicked him out of the club because he doesn't like terrorism. Otherwise nothing has changed. Am I missing something? Hasn't he always been a union Democrat rather than a committed leftoid.
