The Devil Is Waiting For Me On The Back Porch
Voltaire replied to BunnysBastatrds's topic in The Geek Club
Thanks for putting into words how you're handling this all, Bunny, or finding a video as in this case. I know I don't have the words myself ... a light hearted joking around, some condolences...I dunno... it sucks, man. The humor is appreciated for as long as you can keep dragging out and providing it although what that one friend went through sounds dreadful. -
From my earliest memories as a child, when I first started following sports, including hockey, I was in awe of this guy.

There's truth to this. I like them both about the same and since the question is supposed to be about music alone, I would have wrestled with it quite a bit, but that didn't happen. The choice was made easy for this reason. Outside of music, Bruce is a sellout and can go fock himself. In fairness he 'sells out' in both meanings of the word.

California girls' volleyball players refuse to participate alongside transgender teammate 🌈

Takes guts to do that in California. -
You'd think Springsteen had his finger on blue collar working class Rust Belt angst pretty well, but instead he sides with the uniparty overlords who closed all those factories and relocated all those jobs overseas. I guess that's why his nickname is "the Boss" he's been on the boss' side laughing at us the whole time. Fock him but the music is still good.

Two NFL games into the season, two great, close games... I feel asleep during both and didn't know how either ended until checking in afterwards. A sure sign I'm getting old.

Sorry, it seems Uganda may have come to their senses. It looks like Eswatini Dad will be going to Eswatini instead. That's the new name for Swaziland, I had to look it up. They probably figured they could suck it up and take Eswatini Dad because they can use the publicity. Eswatini can raise money by putting him in a glass cage at a zoo and liberals can go on pilgrimages there to look at him and peg him with peanuts. -

Uganda Dad convinced the dimbulb Biden administration not to allow him to be deported home to El Salvador, so he always had that going for him in his back pocket. He's going to Uganda instead, because Uganda is willing to take people like him. -

Not just for disagreeing with Trump. They're activist when they deliberately misinterpret the laws, overstep their authority, and ignore how SCOTUS has already ruled on the matter at hand and do the opposite anyways. -

The one thing they have going for them is the realization that SCOTUS isn't stepping on the cockroach infestation with any speed or urgency. -
Your spelling is as bad as the Great Googly Moogly guy's.

I hope I'm wrong but it looks like the situation is going to be dormant for a few weeks. Activist judges are pulling all the stops and putting up all the hurdles possible in protecting Uganda Dad from deportation until October. -

He's not very good at this but I'll play along. In squistion's imaginary world where US citizens get deported to El Salvador, I'll join squistion in waving adios to this guy on Deportation Santa's first sleigh ride because, frankly, he's not wrong. I agree with him in that I don't want this focker around either. -
I presumed Dallas would suck but its a positive that they played above expectations.

I far prefer to keep the Defense Department. I know this change is just cosmetic and changes nothing but "War" deserve the bad reputation the word generates.

Well done.

Bruce Campbell isn't black and it'd be tragic to learn that he is a Democrat. This must be the imposter Bruce Campbell without the gun. -
Trump has US military kill 11 people in strike on alleged drug boat from Venezuela

Maybe Trump can get the liberals on board by talking about sinking drug smuggling ships as performing late term abortions. -

Florida has excellent school choice, which means that private schools here are fully subsidized. Parents can choose whichever school they want. -

So, the Chinese government cracked down on the entire private school sector, effectively destroying everything my wife and I built as well as every place I'd worked along the way, except the kindergartens. We moved back to the US in December of 2021 to Michigan where my sister generously allowed the five of us to stay with her for a year. I got a job teaching middle school math in the Florida panhandle in December of 2022 and so we've been here going on two years. Yeah, there's a thread but I'd have to look for it. The two oldest kids are a senior and junior in high school, The elder is in the Florida National Guard and her brother will join her when he turns 17 in January. All three are top students, US schools are significantly easier than their Chinese counterparts. The upside of coming back to the US is it allows them to appreciate the country more but it was a hard landing. -

Couldn't agree more. One of the few instances where we are totally in accords. This woman is guilty of something totally despicable, everyone agrees on this, yet deserves far worse accommodations than she's being provided with. Upgraded to a luxury prison! After what she did! Unreal.

This is sheer joy logging into this site and watching the total liberal meltdown.

Some of us happen to notice that in most instances (don't quote me, guessing 85% of the time or so, could be less) , it turns out that the Trump administration had indeed been interpreting the laws correctly the entire time and it is the activist partisan judges on the lower courts who get reigned in and overridden regularly. Its frustrating for SCOTUS to have to step in all the time since the lower courts choose to just ignore their rulings so frequently. Meanwhile the trump administration never disobeys any lower court decisions. They at best drag their feet or meet minimum requirements, then frequently prevail on appeal. On page eight here you'll see Gorsich writing (with Kavanaugh signing on) a concurrence lamentation that begins with: "Lower court judges may sometimes disagree with this Court’s decisions, but they are never free to defy them." and goes on talking about how that happened in California vs Department of Education https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/24pdf/25a103_kh7p.pdf#page=8
