My 2023 NFL Power Rankings Week 9

The defense is first rate and Lamar is lights out when healthy - which he is right now.

My 2023 NFL Power Rankings Week 9

I did that too. I have a top 11 contenders, then a group at 12-17, then 3/4 of the NFC South, then everybody else.

Buddy of mine just killed himself

My condolences, Kilroy.. Lots of stories from other posters but not me. I've been lucky in this. Death among even my parents generation, let alone close friends, is something that I've been able to avoid. The closest I have is a former very close friend who I'd lost contact with that snapped and murdered his family eight years ago, I posted about it at the time.

    War in Israel

If true, POWs shouldn't be executed. Fair enough. Does Israel kill Palestinian civilians indiscriminately? Do they put their civilians on the front line and hide behind them? Has a Palestinian school bus ever blown up? I don't see anything resembling that on your link. Jordan slaughtered both the PLO and their civilian sympathizers, those who weren't slaughtered were chased them all out of the country. All of them. 100%. That's despite being the same religious and ethnic group as the Palestinians. When you try to assassinate the king, sh*t happens. Well sh*t happened again. By way of contrast, Israel has behaved and continues to behave with restraint and has been exponentially less harsh than Jordan ever showed. Israel just wants to be left alone. They don't want to police this sh*thole. They aren't to genocide the Palestinians, which is what the Palestinians would do to them. They do want to get rid of Hamas in the here-and-now and whatever happens the day, or year, or decade after that, I'm not aware of the long term plan.

    War in Israel

Hamas attacks any Israeli they can find. They are also responsible for the vast majority of their own civilians dying as well. Israel only attacks military targets. Palestinian civilians die because Hamas deliberately hides behind their own civilians who they've either intimidated into staying or who've got imbibing the "stay and die like martyrs" propaganda. Granted these Palestinian civilians don't have great options but they are not being targeted. Hamas hides behind them. I think that makes all the difference, but you seem too married to the moral equivalent argument to grasp the difference. I'm like, "alright Israel, do what you have to do." Then there's exception that proves the rule... the Palestinian hospital that did get indescriminatly bombed and caused international outrage... it was a misfired Palestinian rocket.

    War in Israel

It's not, they don't have any truly safe place to retreat to since the borders are shut. "Go south" doesn't really cut it. They also cut off electricity and water and any humanitarian aid that finds its way in either gets looted or goes to Hamas, which may or may not be the same people.

    War in Israel

It seems to be a decently workable solution considering the numbers of school buses that use to get blown up regularly has been curbed greatly in the last 30 years.

    War in Israel

Israel issues warnings to civilians to GTFO and goes out of their way to limit civilian casualties because of international pressure. Hamas tells them to stay and earn martyr status either because they want to use them as human shields or because they genuinely think this is a glorious way to die that pleases God. Hamas is responsible for the deaths of both the Israeli civilians they kill directly and the Palestinian civilians they put in harm's way by building bunkers and tunnels in schools and hospitals.

    War in Israel

Palestinians and Jordanians are the same people but after the PLO tried a couple of times to assassinate the king of Jordan, he rained hell on them, indiscriminately killed their civilians and pushed them out of his country. Egypt doesn't want Palestinians either. Nor does anybody else.

[** Official President Joe Biden Thread **]

Biden's approval rating went down among Democrats recently, likely for doing the right thing by way of Israel. as a Lions fan, it feels identical to watching Kirk Cousins get a season ending injury in Minnesota. I'm anxious to vote Biden out of office despite agreeing with him on Ukraine and Israel, and this decrease in support helps with that, but Democrats overall just really, really suck ass.
  12. I don't know what Tim does for a living, I've known him for months not years, but I always pegged him to be a willing cog in the wheel with an insider corporate/government job. A mouthpiece on behalf of the left-wing power structure machine. To think of him as outside the establishment doesn't seem to jibe, he seems way more partial to the Pelosi left than the Bernie left.

    War in Israel

Due to changes in life, I'm too busy to post as much as I use to, but everything I see KSB post is spot on the money for how I feel on these issues. There is no moral equivalence. Hamas targets any Israeli civilian or military. Israel goes out of their way to warn Palestinian civilians to move and hold back from inflicting more casualites than necessary. Hamas uses this to their advantage, telling people not to move when attacked, hiding behind or underneath civilians and using schools and hospitals as the base of operations. As for the Palestinian people - they stay put and get bombed. Is it because they are more afraid of Hamas, they believe that dying this way demonstrates their religious piety and is honorable to God, because they have no where else to go, or some combination of factors? Whatever... Hamas is using their own people as human shields. Israelis aren't willing to live under threat from terrorists. No Muslim country (let alone anybody else) wants Palestinian refugees. It's a mess.

    ****Happy Football Day Week 8****

Chargers got off to a bad start but are putting it together against the Bears (which isn't saying much). Going into the season they looked like a solid contender for a playoff spot. It may still happen. Chicago, for their part, isn't doing their rookie QB any favors by dropping perfectly thrown balls to wide open receivers in the end zone.

The Black Hebrew Israelites are the guys that taunted the Covington Catholic kids. The Palestinians endorse Hamas... bad vs bad... whatever...
  20. Maybe you'll trust Cenk's insight since he is of the left and has personal experience working in the MSM. It's only 6 minutes and his 2nd point in the OP is right on the money.

Green Bay looked like total cr@p again, especially the WR corps, although there was signs of life in the second half. The big thing in this game is Cousins' ankle, diagnosis over the TV is unreliable but that looked really serious, something to keep an eye on.

Vikings hold off on a 4th down deep. Cousins done for the game, non-contact injury, and cannont put weight on the ankle. Replacement named Hall fumbles ball on his second career snap deep in his own territory giving ball right back to Packers. Packers receivers continue to suck ass.
