Trump to fire 80k VA employees

We know that they are going through the federal government looking to find places to cut costs and lay off workers. The VA isn't exactly a place that I like to see cuts, considering that I use the VA. First, we'll check the veracity of the internal memo, then, if true, we'll see how deeply it affects services. The AP got the scoop as they are the only one reporting this, but they are a reliable source so far as the MSM goes.

    Zelensky and Ukraine Thread

#3 was the only completely reasonable part. With #2, I can't fault President Trump for trying to get back some of the money we spent over there, but I'd always written it off as a loss/unrecoverable until he started talking about this a month ago. #5 is the unfortunate sh*t that happens when you lose a war. #1 and #4 though, those two are total bullsh*t.

    Trump's Cognitive Decline and Health

You were one of the main apologists telling us both Biden and Trump were in decline. Which isn't true. Trump has tons of energy. Trump regularly hosts Oval Office interviews with a hostile press corps, can speak off the cuff on topics, does two dozen things simultaneously, and if you pull up an interview from the 80s, 90s hasn't demonstrated any noticeable decline. Meanwhile, Biden can't complete a thought, needs handholding to prevent wandering off, and was/is little more than a houseplant.

Liberals wanna know where the Tylenol is.

The political animosity on both sides is turned up to eleven. And to think that at the time, we thought the Gingrich/Clinton battles and their government shutdowns were acrimonious.
  7. His problem is that he has independent views and won't always stay on the plantation. Also, anyone who - on the record - takes views to the right of Joy Behar is a Nazi.

    Trump's congressional address

Thanks. That's interesting. Seeing the tranny takeover of everything and their subsequent removal would have been solid. Too bad the Russia/Ukraine war looks to be winding down with nuclear Armageddon seemingly inconceivable at this late point. I hate it when Rusty wins an argument with somebody. ---- I should make my own. I'd include stuff like enhanced people with chip implants in their brain, people defeating death and living forever as brains in a glass jar, living to be 250 but not collecting Social Security as that goes bankrupt, and the NBA (and other sports leagues) dissolving because of all the Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain clones.
  9. This is a good thread to bump. Glad I saw it. To be clear, last year Biden was operating under the exact same immigration laws that Trump is operating under now. The only difference is they issued different executive orders to get the different results they desired. Compare and contrast the results for yourself. Also, please remember how Biden left the border open for three years, and reflect on why he wanted this bill to pass in order to do something rather than just take the initiative himself to do something as President Trump has done. It seems to me that Trump has proven that this border bill was unnecessary. If Biden had been serious about securing the border, he could have simply taken the actions that President Trump is taking now. The truth, it would seem is that Biden wanted unfettered, open immigration but saw that it was both politically unpopular and came with too many unintended consequences that he hadn't considered. Rather than take action, he wanted to rope enough Republicans into a bipartisan border bill so a change in policy popular with the Democratic base could be blamed on them. Anyway, hindsight is 20/20. Can we agree that Biden could have stopped the flow of illegal migrants anytime he wanted to but made the deliberate chose not to? Or is the argument that Biden wanted to control the border but was just incompetent? or something else?
  10. There are some around. I'm thinking specifically of Bill Maher who remains a circa 2010 liberal that hasn't changed but instead laments that the rest of his party all boarded the train to loony-left coo-coo for CoCo Puffs land. He really is the best the Democrats have to offer, hopefully they don't listen to him.
  11. Hopefully we see Kamala or some other loopy establishment/nutjob amalgamated idiot, but a swing state governor like Halfwit or Shapiro would be more formidable. I hope there's an unhinged Marxist gender-nonconforming BIPOC police-defunder they can rally around.
  12. I don't know that he can. He does keep trying to dig and he also does have a state-of-the-art jackhammer and shovel. If anyone can successfully burrow through and discover what's on the other side of this thick and seemingly impenetrable concrete floor, it'll be him.

Notice how the left is responding to Trump

In seriousness, we really are as divided as we've ever been. Trump ripped into Biden and the Democrats at many points and they responded with hooting and insults throughout the speech. There's real animosity. And I feel that way myself. The anger and rage. After all the bullsh*t lawfare they put President Trump through, the left has really honed him into someone anxious to get things done and giving zero focks about them and their priorities. There is no playing nice with these people. I share the opinion that the Democrats are vile and evil scum. Just ignore them, run them over, then back up and run them over a second time. I know its not a healthy way to run the country or feel about the opposition but its where we are since both sides just kept escalating until the good guys won. And now every day is great. Its just so ecstatic and liberating to see President Trump cut through seemingly impenetrable and permanent fixtures of bureaucracy and leftoid rule. The swamp is actually being drained and DEI, trans-insanity, and wokeness under seige and rooted out. Need another eight years of JD Vance or Ron DeSantis after this to make every ember of this garbage go cold, salt over leftoidism, and make the cultural shift permanent. The leftoids aren't dead yet but their popularity is the lowest its ever been, their ability to censor seriously curtailed, and the power/stature of the institutions they've co-opted been reduced. Have to make sure these reforms take hold and succeed.

Notice how the left is responding to Trump

The good guys have all the guns. The bad guys have screeching 250 lb blue haired women, trannies, men whose masculinity tops out in the Tim Walz range, and a penchant for posting outraged Yelp reviews online.
  16. When Biden did the same thing with that 4 y/o cancer baby at the SotU, any decent person would cheer for her family. There were lots of ammo for distasteful jokes surrounding a cancer-fighting anchor baby with a white immigrant dad and black immigrant mom. It would have taken a special kind of a$$hole to write one though. I'm sure that a$$hole could have assured us the joke was funny too. The better approach is clap for the kid and wait five minutes to beat up Biden over something else.
  17. For those curious what the OP was talking about, here's the link. Its about trump winning a mandate or not and SAS does call Joy Behar out on it.
  18. The one guy got kicked out early. The rest of the time, Trump was giving them hell and they were used as stage props. Getting pissed off and blowing steam by grousing was how they could cope. Some of the guests there were political and intended to tweak them but nit all. You'd think there'd be universal support, or at least polite applause for the non-political ones that deserved unanimous appreciation. Instead they sat on their hands. Gutterboy outdid even Al Green by mocking the 12 y/o cancer kid that wants to grow up to be a cop. At least the guy in the Santa costume that Eagles fans pelted with snowballs was an adult.

    Trump's Cognitive Decline and Health

The left could watch Biden shake hands with invisible people and wander off into the woods and think nothing of it. "Deep fakes" and "misinformation". Dude, you didn't see what you just watched?!?!? They uncritically gobble up as truth what their media swears by of accusations of. Then when the truth is too big to ignore, they cannot connect the dots. Watching Trump's first six weeks makes me cognizant of some under appreciated aspects of Biden: chiefly that he was so low energy, napping and vacationing all the time, and was utterly ineffectual. He attempted jack sh*t, accomplished jack sh*t, and spent a great deal of his waking hours focused on where the next ice cream cone would come from. It was a good trait for a Democrat president to have. Imagine the damage that could have been inflicted if the dipsh*t was capable of juggling 50 balls at once.

    Trump's congressional address

As I recall, cmh worked for Ike Skelton, who was a GOP rep from western Missouri in the 1990s and 2000s. I can't way what twists and turns he's taken since then.
