While I agree with him that birthright citizenship is foolish, I read the 14th amendment the same way that you do. Ignoring the words of the Constitution or any laws has been the province of liberal judges and justices; they just find the results they want and patch it over with creative interpretations. To me it'd take a Constitutional Amendment and the Dems will never allow that. Maybe with a court decision in hand, he can beat the Dems over the head with the issue going forward.
