Wordle 1,212 3/6 π© π¨π¨π¨ π©π©π©π©π© Took a bit to get. That second spot green helped eliminate a few possibilities.

Same as it ever was
-
Hutchinson with what looks like a serious injury. A huge blow to the Lions if true,
-
This game needs a Dan Skipper 2 point conversion attempt, even if it fails.
-
Hopefuly we can get Hendon Hooker some quality NFL snaps in the second half.
-
Coming off the bye it seems like the Lions haven't played in forever. Wasn't happy with the Thursday game nor any of early Sunday results but Lions are having their way with Dallas.
-
I may well exit if the Tigers are eliminated. Three of the teams left are top five in payroll and the 4th bent the knee and allowed Woke sh1tbags to bully them into a name change.

Hurricane Milton, Cat 3, flooding and lots of damage

What steps do you (can you) take if you do find a roof leak? I'm taking notes. The bathtub idea is solid. And best wishes for you, Gobble Dog. -

What did the flying alligator tell the flying dog upon landing in Des Moines? "I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore, Toto." -
Sledge Hammer! Need the exclamation point!

Nice win for Detroit, another 3-0 shutout. Would like to get the third in Detroit so as to not overwork Skubal, who may well be asked to pitch again in five.

Wordle 1,208 5/6 π© π©π©π© π©π©π©π©π© that was frustrating. Not necessarily scary. Ir's OK to run out of letters, not happy about getting a bogey though.

Wordle 1,207 4/6 π¨π¨ π¨π¨ π¨π¨π¨π¨ π©π©π©π©π© Yesterday. I had four letters but a devil of a time getting this one.

Hurricane Milton, Cat 3, flooding and lots of damage
Voltaire replied to jerryskids's topic in The Geek Club
A large bulk of the population of Florida evacuating this storm is on westbound I-10 right now causing one of the worst traffic jams I've ever been in. I was riding my brake the whole time. My usual 45 minute commute home took 2:25 today. We're projected to miss this hurricane entirely. -

It's pretty much as expensive as Michigan. -

All series deadlocked 1-1. That's a pleasant result after the first day.
-
3 more outs.
-
Wasn't terribly pleased seeing NY get on the scoreboard first. Good on KC to get that run back and more.
-
KC is fully welcome to join everybody else in the 1-1 party so far as I'm concerned. I'm rooting for them.

Hilary Clinton calls for clamp down on social media
Voltaire replied to Frozenbeernuts's topic in The Geek Club
That was the first stuff kicked off social media about eight onion rings ago. Thet were incrementally banning everybody more and more mainstream conservative until Elon Musk came along. Meanwhile Communists and terrorists were always free to spout anything they wanted. Unless you outright advocated for violence, it was/is impossible to be so extreme left to ever get banned. -
Next two games are in Detroit with the potential to see Skubal again in game five. That'd screw up the potential KC/Yankees series but you do what you need to do. A three or five game series is winnable, but these longer series don't do a team that relies on one pitcher so heavily any favors. It wasn't that long ago (to me at any rate) that the Tigers use to own the Yankees in the postseason, but there's nobody left on the team that remembers those days. Two whole new ballclubs.

Since I never lived in Florida until this year, I never had more than a "well that sucks, but its somebody else's problem" attitude about all this hurricane stuff. Panzhihua and Detroit didn't have anything like this. Now that I DO live here, I've become obsessed with this stuff. Three hurricanes have come through now and done nothing to us personally; Milton looks sure to miss us too but I'm still uneasy nonetheless. Pensacola has a history of getting clobbered and its more like "there but for the grace of God go I" type thing going on. We're 5/8 of the way through our first hurricane season and this is pretty dang scary. -
It's the least bad form of government humanity has ever come up with. Allowing people on the public dole or with student loan forgivness to vote though is stupid. The merits of such programs, good or bad, can be argued but "Here's a buttload of taxpayer money, vote for me" is a recipe for financial ruin and should not be a campaign strategy (which is a major, long-standing, lifelong problem I have always had with the Democratic Party).
