Can Daniel Jones accomplish in the final 30 seconds what he hasn't been able to do in the first 59 1/2 minutes?

Daboll is really missing that guy who moved an hour away down the New Jersey turnpike.

I just know that they're going to win 18-17 and I'm going to have to eat crow on this. The Giants don't look like the 32nd best team in the league today, I'll stand by that part. They've beaten Cleveland already and plus: Tennessee exists.

Will the 2024 Chicago White Sox break the modern day record for most losses in a season?
Voltaire replied to Mike Honcho's topic in The Geek Club
Thankfully, the 2003 Tigers got hot a bit at the end of the year (or more correctly "just lukewarm enough") to both finish respectable and prevent them from catching/breaking the Mets record. Now, with the 2024 White Sox breaking their AL record, we can all quietly forget about that year and instead talk about those 63 Mets and this Chicago team the next time things get this dismal again for some sorry franchise. There's no forgetting Matt Millen's 0-16 Lions. The math surrounding the number zero makes it impossible, but at least with a 17 game season, someone will eventually come along to bail them out of last place. They didn't deserve 0-16. They kept the final score within a TD more than half the time and as I remember it, had actually outplayed Chicago that year but lost anyway. -
Hurricane Helene about to biotch-slap the FL "Big Bend"
Voltaire replied to jerryskids's topic in The Geek Club
I went outside to check just now because the winds are howling enough to make noise. Pretty strong wind and the clouds in our partly cloudy sky are moving rather rapidly to the south, maybe SSE. But still no rain. The winds, while strong, would not seem out of the ordinary were I not looking at weather reports of that hurricane. We're getting the bare-ass minimum of this as possible. This small blip is still more than what we got of Beryl and Francine. My luck won't last forever but it's lasted a third time. -
Wordle 1,195 2/6 🟩🟩🟨 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Got a deuce. That yellow may as well have been a third green, and then it was easy.

Giants looking decent on national TV. Gonna need more than FGs to win the game though.

Getting a young team hot in the end of the year after starting so poorly, the Tigers 2024 season is feeling a lot like the Lions 2022 season.

Yes, she gets straight As in all AP classes and is receiving recruitment letters from top schools including the University of Chicago and West Point. Also, she's 17 and needed parental consent. -

No sh*t. A big reason I was drawn to maintenance support was it seemed to me the least likely place to get blown up. (Which it was.) There was a chaplain's assistant position open that I was hinting would be preferential. -

MOS is 74D Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Specialist Sounds to me like an invitation to giving yourself cancer or what the Chinese ding-dong who got bit by a bat and spread the joys of COVID to the world was doing. Also, all that beauty shouldn't be buried under a hazmat suit, but she was drawn to it. -

We do have clouds and the wind is a modest bit above average. It's been a really pleasant day, hopefully that continues. Also my eldest daughter isn't at home. She's in Birmingham, Alabama staying overnight at the MEPS station because she's joining the Florida National Guard. -

Pensacola, Florida. Perfectly situated to miss Beryl to the east, Francine to the west, and -thus far- Helene has not delivered a single rain drop either. -

That is great thanks. As this is my first year in hurricane alley, it makes hurricane tracking news more important. -

I've had amazingly great hurricane luck thus far. When Beryl and Francine came through, Pensacola experienced nothing but clear skies and calm winds. Not a drop of rain. Thus far, 5:37 PM Central time, that's my Helene story too. School was cancelled today anyway. -
Its nice the Tigers get to finish out the season with three against Chicago as it would seemingly make clinching a playoff spot easier.

He'd offered to personally deliver to me those 1000 used Lebanese pagers I bought on Amazon yesterday. -
I was watching the Lions, and it looked like a blowout early, but it seems to me that they did well to come back and make it close against a quality team.

Lions win, 49ers and Cowboys lose That's what we call a 'perfect outcome' for the late afternoon games.

Wordle 1,191 3/6 🟩🟩 🟨🟨 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Nice guessing with two green and two more yellows made it fast and easy.
