Will democrats ever hold a presidential primary again
Voltaire replied to Mr Fantasy's topic in The Geek Club
Come 2028, they'll hope that they can unearth another Bill Clinton or Obama. -
For the most brainwashed among us, this thread didn't age well.

The same people who run Biden run Kamala. They just changed horses because the first one died.

Joe Biden drops out of Presidential Race
Voltaire replied to League Champion's topic in The Geek Club
I have her around 25% which is far better than the 0% shot Biden was giving them. That speech she gave in NC that worms linked was pretty good but also well scripted. She's got a lot to prove. -

Yeah, they've thrown everything they have at him, impeachments, investigations, lawfare, removed from ballots, shot him, in order to demonize him over the last ten years. By contrast, Kamala gets a relatively fresh start, although we'll be reminded soon enough. And she's not been forged and hardened in the fire of a primary campaign, she cracked and crumbled last time and all those weaknesses are known. That said...she's wiser this time too. Maybe she learned things along the way. -

It has to be Kamala. If it's not Kamala, that b*tch will go scorched earth on whoever replaced her. Meanwhile the Republicans can attempt to 25th Amendment out Biden and have the Dem nominee, Biden, and Harris, and all their delegation pissed off at each other and going in knots. Dems were right to get Joe out of there but they are are well advised to not go to that well a second time, to just accept and run with Kamala, then cross their fingers. -

Likeability went a long way into why Hillary lost the election and Kamala isn't any better. Further her grasp of policy positions doesn't come close to Hillary's. This is a weaker version of Hillary and isn't likely to fare nearly as well. Her history of triangulating and pander to every group in the party will alienate all the rest of them. This was a seriously flawed candidate last time and she's not improved her perception in the ensuing 3 1/2 years. -

You're rightfully delighted that Joe stepped aside and are in a honeymoon with your non-Biden candidate and i don't blame you. But Kamala is going to enter buzzsaw mode with the sort of live action scrutiny that buried her last time. That doesn't mean it will bury her again, but she has been an extraoridnarily weak VP with problems leaking everywhere. In Biden's first SotU address he put her, by name, in charge of the border policy yet she never went there. Her entire staff turnover was incredible. Her cloying personality and inauthenticity are off the charts. Also, she demonstrated no clue as to how to campaign in Iowa or New Hampshire. Freakazoid California isn't exactly a prime training ground for how to appeal to voters in a national campaign. -

Newsom, Halfwhit, Shapiro, and the Kentucky guy would have to be crazy to take her on. Better off falling in line and hoping she calls you for the #2 spot. -
Republicans have had three weeks to dust off the oppo-research on Kamala as well. The Daily Wire has alreaday made three 20+ minute Scamala videos to remind us. She'd started 2020 as the top non-Bernie candidate but couldn't hold pole (nor poll) position and faded. If she'd been able to run a good campaign then, this would have been the 2020 matchup. She's being gift wrapped a coronation, we'll see if things work out better this time.

Act Blue is very well know. Its the same Dem campaign PAC that the Trump shooter contributed $15 towards. It seems a lot of these big Dem donors that were hodling back while Biden was in the race to put leverage on Pelosi and Schumer to pressure him out are making good on those pledges. -

It's a sold speech. A lot of strawman arguments regarding what she frames as Trump's polices, but alas. She certainly looks better than Biden. -

It's bothered me the whole time, they should have never had that debate before Biden secured the nomination. If they'd have waited until after the convention, this would have been over. It's not good seeing the Dems were given a lifeline. That it's Kamala is some comfort though. There are other way better candidates, and those candidates may well have wilted on the vine dealing with Kamala in 2028 if Biden had stuck around in 2024. -

You've never seen anything like it because you've never seen a party implode like the Democrats have for the last three weeks. I mean, yeah, it was fun watching all the infighting and intrigue. I was rooting for Joe to outlast them. Now things gel around a non-Biden and it'll soon more resemble a normal campaign. So that's a relief for you. You have to rely on Kamala not being repugnant again. She comes across as a less competent, less likeable Hillary, but we can cross that bridge later. Maybe she'll be better this time. For now just be relieved Biden is gone. For my part, I'm not happy he's gone. This election was a slam dunk. It still should be a layup unless Kamala improves greatly from what we've seen. -

No. Of course not. The 10 years of smears on Trump driving up his negatives still exist. Joe will be missed because he had no way of recovering. -

None of the MAGAturds posting here are panicking. She is an upgrade on Joe though. Further, she will have an opportunity to reinvent herself, and unlike steadily declining Joe, has some chance to pull it off. We'll all get to watch her try. -

She's going to have her work cut out for her because she exudes phoniness and hasn't got any understanding or appeal to these voters. Things that work in San Francisco or California do not work there. -
Obama is a large reason she's where she is. They may try to do an end run around her anyway since she's been uninspiring, unpopular and not very good at anything. Still she's a better candidate than Biden in that at least she has a pulse.
-
She's been perceived as inauthentic, prone to word salad, unlikable, and incompetent. We'll get a good look for the next 3 1/2 months, and see if she can change the impression and rise to the challenge.

Pretty much. I don't feel that one was hoisted on the world for woke reasons.
